'68 BSA Victor Build..... Bloody 'el mate... You 'effin daft or sommat?!?

Looks really pretty Jim! BTW - there is a guy in my chapter of the CVMG who has several late 50s-early 60's BSA Gold Stars and another who is restoring a 1938 Norton....something or other. They may know some tricks or suppliers.... Lemme know if you would like me to put you in touch with...

    Video Thread

Yup - everything everyone said about Marlon is true - he has an amazing command of English and is hilarious when he gets going. A buddy of mine has a Scrambler - and he likes it but I've only seen it out once this year. Overall, it seems pretty needy and fragile. P

    Just Ride.

Yeah, I use "Madam" or simply, Cathie. "The wife" definitely gets a negative reaction as does "the ball & chain" oddly enough.:umm:

    1978 XS650 Special Project

Now THAT looks really nice! Its hard to believe that someone would actually choose a seat like the one that was on it.... Oh well - to each, his own I guess.

'78E brake light and turn signal LED conversion - flasher??

Once again - agreed. I bought some stuff from SUMO rubber in Scotland and it was really good. I think it was the rubber sealing ring on the fuel tank cap. The ones from Mikes XS are too small and they crack when you install them.

'78E brake light and turn signal LED conversion - flasher??

Agr Agreed - I rode a 1975 XS650B back in the mid-late 1970s and it vibrated every bit as badly as my XS bikes do today - but I don’t recall having difficulties keeping the incandescent bulbs working back then.

'78E brake light and turn signal LED conversion - flasher??

Yup, I do that pre-flight type of thing as well - but these incandescent taillights have been burning out so quickly that it always seems that I am about to depart for home from somewhere - and I notice that it’s out. As for swapping to a dual bulb set-up - there is surprisingly little room...

'78E brake light and turn signal LED conversion - flasher??

Cool - and a heck of lot cheaper than the Sylvania bulbs I got today.

'78E brake light and turn signal LED conversion - flasher??

Yeah, I thought about taking that module off but I hate to lose functionality on my bikes and that warning thingy is worth having in todays busy traffic. It’s just not cool having it flash all the bloody time!

'78E brake light and turn signal LED conversion - flasher??

Hokey Dokey sport fans - my quest for safe, bright, durable lighting on an XS650 (aka The Paint Shaker) continues. In our last episode, I replaced the four turn signal bulbs with 1156 LED replacements from SuperBrite LEDs on Betty (‘78E) and they worked fine in conjunction with an “electronic”...

Hi Gents: I’ve been away for a while - family health issue and then my annual bike trip - but I’m back now. I ran across this YouTube video on cool tricks with tools, and there are a few of these that are totally brilliant and highly applicable to working on old bikes. I didn’t know where...

    Any good motorcycle movies?

I went and saw The Bike Riders the other day - actually I saw it at a late 10:30 PM showing and I was literally the only person in the theatre.. I agree that the movie is well-made and has good acting, scenery and production values - and I would certainly recommend it, but quite honestly, it...
