    IDEAL SWING ARM LENGTH

A longer swing arm would improve weight distribution somewhat. All stock, any XS is really tail-heavy. With a rider, I suspect even more so, especially with a high handlebar.

Anyone know of a supplier of "Starlock" push-on fasteners for metric square shafts?

I have been trying to find a source for a small quantity of "Starlock" (or similar) push-on fastener for square shafts, without much success. Ideally 7 mm, but I could possibly use 1/4" instead. If any of you could point me in the right direction, it would be great! See attached picture for...

    Whats your weather right now?

Somewhat foggy/ hazy, here at the southern end of the Dublin Bay, Ireland. Bobbing around waiting for some 3rd party people to join the ship, before going to the survey area (so no bike riding for me anytime soon)

Installing a Vape all in one charging and ignition system.

Was that with points or TCI? Powerdynamo/ Vape is a CDI ignition, so totally different from OEM points, OEM TCI, Dyna, Boyer, Pamco, Etc. Totally different. So use all components that come with the Vape kit, put everything else on the shelf or sell it.

I just can't help wonder if a "too much advance" lever or switch would be an excellent theft deterrent?

    XS650 Adventure Bike?

Now, I may remember incorrectly, but I think that the flow capacity of an orifice (or pipe) is not proportional with the area. I have no textbook available here, but I believe the flow capacity is increasing more than area when the hole is enlarged. At least when it is laminar flow.

    XS650 Adventure Bike?

IMHO, the stock peg location on both my XS, and my RD350 is too far forward, both for road and offroad. In order to stand up, or even put some weight on the pegs, you need to pull on the handlebars. Not good.

    wideband sensors

Very nice and excellent information. Nice Tig welding of the bungs as well, but he really should have purged the inside with argon, that would have given a smooth inside of the weld.

    High Compression Help ?

A higher primary ratio, would in fact also make for easier kicking a big bore/ high comp engine over tdc. Obviously, the engine would turn over slower. How that would affect starting I do not know.

    Can someone explain this cam

Wouldn't the LSA be referred to crankshaft degrees? Theoretically, the rockers could be L-shaped or whatever, like for example a Ducati closing rocker arm. Most of us are used to see camshafts where lifters or rockers all are "inline", and camshaft lobes placed accordingly.

    Brembo 65mm caliper, master cylinder

It depends. Any Brembo M/C is smaller and lighter than the OEM one. I use the older type with rectangular integrated reservoar. The main drawback is that the stock Yamaha mirror won't fit, as those are LH thread, while Brembo uses RH thread. And going from 14 to 13 mm is actually a 16 per cent...

    Brembo 65mm caliper, master cylinder

I use a 13 mm Brembo master cylinder on my XS650, also with a Brembo 4 piston/ 65 mm c-c caliper. This works great. FYI, my 1995 Ducati M600 had the same 13 mm master cylinder, with a Brembo 4 piston/ 40 mm c-c caliper. 40 and 65 mm calipers have the same piston area, and by pure coincidence...
