I was always wondering why that spring above appeared slack when every other picture shows it extended. Guess I just never put two and two together. On the hunt for a replacement stopper lever now!

I bought this bike as a basket case with unknown anything about it. Clearly had sat out for some time, in various states of disassembly and since I've had the bike I haven't noticed those parts anywhere. Knowing it's missing though might be a reason to look a bit deeper though.

That’s the problem I’d say. Makes sense with the problems I’ve been having, going to order a new stopper lever and I’ll report back.

Shifts perfectly fine in 1st, N, and 2nd with the bike off rocking the rear wheel. The shift lever also snaps back like it should.

Just to update the thread I went ahead and tested the rings on the rotor, getting 2.5 ohms. So that failed. The reg/rec diodes tested good. I haven’t tested the continuity on the stator harness yet though. I’m still getting the main fuse blowing when the stator harness is plugged in too...

Last night I did a little more trouble shooting and the fuse only blows when the stator/rotor is plugged in to the harness. Leading me to believe the reg/rec is still good. I can’t be sure on my engines year, but it’s got the one piece reg/rec with the stock alternator I believe. I’ll check...

I’ve dwindled it down to the reg/rec. headlight and tail light or the power box from the BB did not blow the fuse but the connection to the reg/rec blew the fuse. Anyway to test it to confirm?

I was just thinking about this option. There’s only a few things on the other side of the switch so it would easy enough to go through one by one and see what blows the fuse. I’ll report back with my findings

What I meant by that last part is before I installed the Boyer (had a pamco that I let the smoke out of) the bike wouldn’t turn over, wouldn’t cough, wouldn’t do anything but sit and look pretty. Now with the Boyer installed it’ll almost “cough” like you mentioned. But I’ll keep messing around...
