My key learnings from the project: don’t suffocate a modified motor: open up the intakes and the exhaust; go with 1.5” headers and open core mufflers( not 1.75” headers); set up an Air/fuel mix monitor to guide the tuning. If you are interested, the build to follow is the "sumotrack" by...

also, MT-07, FZ-07 are ~ 68hp at the rear wheel. this is in reach for XS with a 750kit. of course it is all the other stuff (except the looks) that make the MT a much better motorcycle.

    VM Tuning Re-visited

i see you have open core. that configuration will flow much better. one thing. you seem to have different types of UNI pods on your carburetors. the one with the end cap flows much less. I would keep the type as the one on the left carb and then see. you are probably running too rich on the...

    VM Tuning Re-visited

are the cone engineering mufflers open core or "the quiter core"? A trip to a dyno with a "sniffer" would dive you lots of info. In my experience, only hooking up an AFR sensor was I able to dial in the jetting. Should have done that from the get go.

Just noticed the serrated aerodynamic shapes on the KTM GP bikes. Very neat. Is there a motoGP following on this site?

Right. I have seen claims that HD was first to use them on motorcycles.

Well, I found this husqvarna interesting as it precedes the introduction of ohv motors by Harley. I have seen claims before that HD knucklehead was revolutionary and a ‘first’.

The other thing is synchronization. Without the barbs is hard to do. You may need to add barbs to carburetors
