    The mystery deepens ,this is not my bike it is one for sale on ebay UK It shows the bracket on top and a motobat mb12u battery which on looking it up is the same height as my too tall one Only difference is the terminals are lower

    Ah I see what you mean ,that would lower the box a bit as well ,I thought It was like that when I got it but could be wrong ,thanks I'll give it a go .

    Thanks I looked at theses batteries and they all seem to be 161 to 163 mm tall which is still too big ,I'm looking at 155mm so the battery is level with the battery case as yours is .Nothing seems to be coming up the right size.

    Hi I'm having trouble finding a battery for my xs2 in the UK ,I bought this one this morning but I'm having doubts now if it is suitable ,I can return it so not a problem but I don't think it's going to be strong enough for my bike ,any advice please

    I just rebuilt this xs2 total cost of 3k ,hopefully it's got a small profit in it if I should decide to sell it in the future.

    Update . I now have both brake lights working 😁 By following advice on here I traced the wires bit by bit and discovered a partial break in one .Took some doing but I've learnt a bit about electrics now Thanks

    Update Morning ,it finally stopped raining here so ventured to the garage Made some progress I made a test lamp as suggested ,it is definitely the way to go,so tried it on the rear brake wires and it lit up so ive got power to the rear then I tried it on the front brake wires and nothing...

    Thanks ,all info is appreciated , today it is pouring down and cold in Lincolnshire so further tests will have to wait till tomorrow, I will get there thanks to all the advice and knowledge of you guys .watch this space .

    So using bulb method it's effectively by passing the switch? Will the brake light work if one switch is broken or do they both need to be working ?

    So when I put the leads on the switch and pull down on it ie activating it the reading still says 1 so switch broken ?

    Thanks as always I got a multimeter anyway (there cheap enough)I'm not sure if I'm doing it right but bear with me please .I set it continuity and unplugged the rear brake switch ,I touched the points to the exposed wires and meter showed what I assume is a low reading so that's good ?
