No I’m running a gonzo/Gerry ignition with non resistor caps and wires. Been down that road already 😆 but thanks for checking

What am I looking at here? On the rich side for sure This is after a 3/4 throttle run. I’ve got idle dialed perfect and it looks and feels great up to 3/4T , after that it seems to fall on its butt. Does the strap look like I need to add more timing? What are the flakes on the strap.

Sounds like your pilot jet/circuit. Sea foam won’t make a difference on that tiny rascal. Gotta get in there, happy hunting.

Like Mike said vibration is the killer. Hugh’s cap should come with a spring bracket. When I was running Hugh’s system I switched to a very small antigravity 12v battery. Does away with the headlight flicker. The battery actually takes up less room than the cap

I would highly suspect your e advance. When they get hot they go to hell. Those xs charge units are famously unreliable. Check out the gonzo thread and get in touch with Jim. I’ve been running a gonzo box for 2k miles without a hiccup. Slight mods to the wiring harness on your 80 tci bike...

What’s the story on the oil sight glass? Is that custom or did Yamaha make a cover with one? Build looks good can’t wait to see it done!!

If I was driving across the country dang straight I’d run a set up like this. We’ll get him set up with a pma but not throwin it out for sure
