    Regrettable ....

Yup. I recently sold the FJR, leaving me a manageable 5 bikes, and sold one of the 3 electric guitars. Feels okay to lighten the load of responsibilities. .

Waking up dad's TX650 in Colorado

If you are really considering using a tank liner (I would not do so in any case) I suggest reading Mailman's nightmare experience with a liner. He hired a "professional" to do the liner, and the "professional" totally screwed it up...

Installing Bronze Swingarm Bushings and Setting Sideplay

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm not an expert as to how much heat powder coating could tolerate. I suggest warming it up as best you can without using a flame ( use boiling water or a heat gun?) , try to press it in, and see how it goes. .

Waking up dad's TX650 in Colorado

Nice bike! Generally, we start with a "wake up drill" or procedure to properly get the bike started. You will learn a lot about what it needs during that. gggGary and others have offerred their own take on that drill. Use the search bar to find it and many other threads on what you are doing. .

    Ageing out or The Crossroads

Malcolm Smith never bought into the myth that age produced disability. He was still riding at 83. Don't surrender !! . .

    Ageing out or The Crossroads

In my opinion, the premise of this thread is bogus. Age is irrelevant to motorcycling. I totally agree with Marty; deciding to ride a motorcycle or not has nothing whatsoever to do with how old you are. Chronological age is just a biological fact. All the stupid "old age" crap that...

What??? I'm not hearing any good reason to give up on the Most Exciting Thing in Our Lives. Surrender is not an option. So, is it the wife?? In my experience, most of these questionable decisions can be traced to some guy caving in to pressure from the spouse.. Surrender is NOT an option...

    Jim's 1980 SG Miss September

It appears that I smoothed all of the contact surfaces of the friction plates that rub the clutch basket. I did it with a fine small circular wire brush. And I did the basket filing operation that Jim accomplished. New clutch cable, greased the worm, idealized the clutch cable location. .
