    Lift table game changer

The wheel chock doesn't work if one puts the bike one its centre stand because that moves it back several inches. I like the bike on its centre stand because that allows me to remove the front or the back wheel. Of course the bike is secured by ratchet straps to the handlebar. The huge front...

    Lift table game changer

I was able to sell one of the 2 I ended up with since I don't have the room for 2. Loving my lift table!

    1971 Suzuki T250

I got me a Hustler! It's a bit rough (chrome) but it's complete including the left side cover and the air box. The seat and tank are good. The 4 emblems are there. Seller showed me a video of it running a few months ago. It really just needs a good cleaning. 5 hour round trip. Got lucky with...

Nice! Good to have the room/space for that.

    Lift table game changer

Another T500 and another motorcycle lift. Bike seller offered the lift for a really good price as he had no more use for it. His Harley is too heavy for it.

    Lift table game changer

The problem with a wheel chock is that the wheel comes out when the bike is rolled backwards to put it on its centre stand, no?

    1972 Suzuki T500 frame fixed!

And almost all back together. I figure that I have my 3 bikes for life: Yamaha XS2 650, 1974 Honda cb750, and 1972 Suzuki T500. They are all classics and will offer completely different riding experiences.

    1972 Suzuki T500 frame fixed!

Two thumbs down to a previous owner who decided to cut the seat and fender supports to bob this bike. Thumbs up to them for keeping the parts. Meh to whoever tried to weld them back on. Finally a BIG 2 thumbs up to a friend who repaired the poor welds!

What have you done to your XS today?

Don't think I'll paint the tank until Spring when temperatures warm up. Will leave it bare (oiled) metal like I've done with a previously owned (now sold) bike. Stripping in the cellar. Naked.

What have you done to your XS today?

Today I stripped the paint from a gas tank for my Yamaha XS2 650. It's a tank from a Special, but that's what came on the bike. I take it that Standard tanks are hard to come by. The trick is cling wrap to keep the stripper from drying out and losing its effectiveness, and warmth to invigorate...

    Let's See The XS's

Once it's sorted I will endeavour to use the kick start as much as possible. I've poorly repainted the original poor repaint.

    Two stroke memories

Thanks bosco! Headlight bucket is okay. I did need a few bits for it but found them: Chain guard, centre stand, working speedometer, and a matching side emblem. Got really lucky with that emblem - made for 1972 only, and it was the side that was missing. The gas tank is for an earlier year and...

    XS2

Bought this a week ago. Was running poorly - intermittently on 1 cylinder. Seller suggested a weak coil. Ordered and installed new coils and it runs but haven't road tested it yet. I want to check valve tappet gaps and look at the carbs because there was some gas dripping. Tank emblem tabs were...

    Honda CB750

I'm a long time BMW airhead rider - 25 years with 1976 R90 and 1981 R100. A year before my retirement 10 years ago, I was practically gifted my brother in law's Planet Blue 1975 cb750. It was a much different riding experience and more exciting. After all the years, the BMW felt like my wife...

    Re-introduction

Hello, again. This past summer I bought and then resold a couple of XS650 bikes. I registered here and posted a bit, but life got complicated, and I got frustrated with those bikes, but I didn't lose my love of this model. Earlier this week I bought another example, an XS2. It runs, but poorly...
