OK sportsfans, the latest Betty-related (the broken clutch cable) has now been fixed. For newbies: replacing an XS650 clutch cable is not difficult. I would begin by oiling the cable to ensure that it is lubricated and that the stranded wire inside the sheath is clean before you install it...

Miatas are excellent cars with few, if any known weaknesses. The later models with the 2.0 litre engine use a timing chain so very little maintenance is required beyond oil and coolant changes and the odd air filter element. ......all the fun of an Italian or British sports car with none of...

Hmmmm….i watch a YouTuber called Stuart Fillingham and another called Rocketman who are both Brits and they’ve had all manner of grief with their Triumphs - including parts shortages. That’s enough for me.

Yeah - and I may get a lot of flack about this so take it FWIW.....Triumphs are very much a niche brand around here with little or no dealer presence anywhere in southern Ontario that I am aware of. Remember, southern Ontario has a population of nearly 14 million people, so this isn't Podunk...

If I were going to buy a new "modern" bike, I'd definitely go for a Suzuki SV650. They have a 75 hp engine that is just about unkillable, they handle great, have ABS, triple disk brakes and are the best value in a mid-sized all-around bike for booting around, track days and medium distance...
