The starter should engage as long as the motor is not running.

I don't think B has anything to with the starter. I'm sure someone will be along that knows more than I do.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that is a reserve lighting modual. The starter cut-out is one of the 2 relays below it.

From what I can see in the pic the answer would be yes. I would use heat and a ez-out. @gggGary could prolly give you a good idea on better ways to do it.

So it might just need to be positioned correctly? If I remember right when I did one. I just pushed the piston in all the way, with the pads installed mounted the caliper and installed the 2 mount bolts.

I'm no expert on the newer 650s but doesn't the caliper "float"?

I use copper crush washers. Have not had any leak yet. I also use stainless button head screws with them.
