Having done many trips through the UK and Europe, mostly under prepared, I came across this video which made me think differently.
It may not be the do all for everyone; but it is a good lead to taking what you need and no more.
The incomplete weld is definitely on the Tank to Lug. Not sure yet where the seepage is coming from. The suggestions here should help me identify that.
All worthy advice, and thank you.
I was thinking of using solder as it's readily available. If the crack is small and dowsed with flux the solder should flow into the crack (when I find it).
I assume solder (electrical type?). is impervious to petrol?
All About The Grind.....
Taff's tank exposure starts in earnest.
Weeping seepage can be seen below around the tank mounting lug.
It runs down to the bottom seam edge of the tank left hand side (Errr, tank is inverted )
Let the grinding commence....
Above images show incomplete...
TAFFY GETS TANKED......
My bike has had a developing weeping petrol tank; gradually worsening over the time I've owned the bike.
Initial look shows the issue.
So I have started to grind off the paint and filler to find the hole....... More on Taffy's build thread later today!
