Build progress / Motor mounts question?

So I picked up this frame as a spare, and for the front end. Probably going to build this one out over the next year while my bike is on the road after I finish throwing it back into the current frame. That brings me to the current problem, the front motor mounts have been cut and ground flush...

PMA issues after welding on frame

Just mig. Fairly low voltage. But I did only disconnect the positive lead to the battery. Probably should have fully isolated it but idk if that would have made a difference . Just wondering if, because the path of least resistance was kind of close to where the stator sits in the motor, thag...

PMA issues after welding on frame

Needed to fix a cracked weld on my frame. Had my ground about 6 inches from it. Front end of the bike, where the kickstand sits. Now, the bike wants to kill batteries immediately. I'm running a HHB PMA with reg/rec from him as well (I think?) didn't install it myself. No continuity between the...

Planning on single carb conversion over winter

Ah okay. Good to know thank you :) I think the vaccum carb might be part of the issue there. I also might do a dual carb conversion and just get some VM mikuni's but I'd still need a custom intake for them because of my frame. Any chance you have an idea where I could get just the plates that...

Planning on single carb conversion over winter

Planning on single carb conversion over winter. Was thinking of building my own manifold, I'm a fabricator. Might go with this plate from The rebel spirit, and build off of it to fit my frame. What kinda carb should I run? I want mechanical. And anything else I need to look for, or know...

I want to change my fork oil..

Successful helicoil. About to do the other side. Anyone have any idea what forks these are? I got a pic of the casting marks. Im stumped.

I want to change my fork oil..

Okay. The seals were good and soft. No leaks, but I'll see if they compare and try and order some new.

I want to change my fork oil..

How do I measure the seals? I know that sounds dumb, but do I measure like inner and outer dia. Etc? And like height and stuff. Im a little confused tbh.

I want to change my fork oil..

I'm not too worried about the forks. Just worried about finding parts for when I do a full rebuild? They don't seem to match any of the models I've looked at online. And they don't match any factory 650 I've seen either. Can't find a Honda with matching forks either. I'm stumped. If you could...

I want to change my fork oil..

Yes it is. That is the damper rod bolt. I got that out fine. After stripping the threads trying to install the drain plug back in. U can drain that way, but the drains exist so you don't have to. Untill the soft alloy strips. Then you gotta remanufacture the threads. Ugh

I want to change my fork oil..

Wow, they must not be then. Huh. They are different on the bottom. Ill try and get some pics tmr. I kinda wanna find an OEM set now. Looking at sets on eBay mine look fairly different as well. Caliper mounts different etc. Found the best pics I have. If you could maybe identify them? Not...

I want to change my fork oil..

I can try and gets some more pics of them later. The fit the wheel and caliper like factory. It's interesting if they are. Another issue came up though, both threads for the fork drain plugs are stripped. I'm gonna pick up a helicoil kit I think. I could tap out to 8mm but I risk fucking it...

I want to change my fork oil..

Yeah I'm confused on that. I haven't seen this style before. But it's a 650 front end to my knowledge, 650 wheel, triples, everything. So I'm not sure. The guy I bought it from said it was a Honda front end but he had the bike built, so I'm not sure if he knew what he was talking about.

I want to change my fork oil..

I need some advice. I want to change my fork oil but am unsure about my forks? I have a chopped up 78 SE. There is no top cap, just a retaining clip with a plug. Do I remove that like I would with a normal threaded cap? I have to put some good pressure on it to push it down to where I could...

    Clutch shuddering while engaging.

Yeah I was thinking of just laying it on its side but I need something to lay it against lol. It's super low cuz it's chopped but I'll figure it out. Might just drain the oil. But thanks for the input, I think I tried to line it up right but when I put it back together I remember not being able...
