    Seat latch XS650B

Apologies perhaps i didn’t explain the issue properly but washers under the part bolted to the seat pan would have the opposite effect. It’s almost as if the latch needs to be shorter in length.

    Seat latch XS650B

I can't get my seat to pull down into position when closed. Sitting on it is fine, it's just when stationary and off the bike the seat looks to tilt as if the latch needs to pull it down further. The photo shows the latch fully engaged and locked into position. Is there anyway of getting the...

    Brake lights XS650B

Just sorted this out. Thanks for the help. The culprit was the bulb holder for the rear lamp...the base plate that connects with the bulb was 180 degrees the wrong way. Front brake light switch had corroded contacts. Happier XS650 owner...just need to sort out the seat latch to bring the seat...

    Brake lights XS650B

Yes I believe standard wiring...I'll double check for crossed wires this morning. I can't see a front brake light switch, is it in the handlebar switch cluster?

    Brake lights XS650B

With my lights in the off position when I actuate the rear brake lever my brake light illuminates as it should. With my lights on (headlight and tail light) the stop light comes on as it should when I use the brake BUT it is so dim it hardly makes any difference to the overall illumination. I've...

    Newtronics Ignition

Thanks for the replies. It’s looking like the Boyer Branson kit is favoured here. Strangely I hadn’t even considered it as the Tri Spark kit was on my list.

    Newtronics Ignition

Has anyone any experience with fitting and running the Newtronics Electronic Ignition ? They seem quite simple and straight forward in that it retains standard coils so it looks relatively easy to install ??? Yambits are selling the kit in the UK for £163 which seems reasonable. I did...

    Electric start fix UK

Thanks for the help. I used this forum to find step by step guidance and recommendations. Took cover off, clutch off...............then I could see the starter gear and spring. The bit sticking out of the spring was not in the 'U' shaped housing but above it. Squeezed up the spring in a vice and...

    Electric start fix UK

I recently bought an XS650B that had been mildly/cosmetically restored however the guy I bought it from said the starter was too complicated to fix and would mean an engine strip. The starter does occasionally engage however I almost exclusively have to kick her as it makes a horrible...
