Just sorted this out. Thanks for the help. The culprit was the bulb holder for the rear lamp...the base plate that connects with the bulb was 180 degrees the wrong way. Front brake light switch had corroded contacts. Happier XS650 owner...just need to sort out the seat latch to bring the seat...

With my lights in the off position when I actuate the rear brake lever my brake light illuminates as it should. Hi Cliff I want to fit iridium plugs and do not know which is correct for standard XS650B.

I use iridium spark plugs in all my bikes with success so want to install same to my newly acquired XS650B. What is the correct NGK iridium plug?? I have read on here that some opt for hotter grade ?? Many thanks Chris

Thanks a million 5twins......... Did manage to find one on eBay in the UK exactly like the one in the pic. Got it cut locally................it just finishes off a nice restoration to have a genuine key 😀
