Ok so if I’m starting to understand this correctly, the piston rings could be bad on that one, leading to a poor seal that allows too much oil to get up there? Wont matter if thats the case because i’ll be replacing both pistons (getting the cylinder honed today so i’ll know what size to get)...

Got the chain off, tried a punch, didn’t want to buy the breaker tool so decided i needed a new one anyways so i grinded it off, there was probably a better way but oh well, i had fun. All thats left is figuring out how to get the alternator off, i could disconnect the wires from the alternator...

Got the fasteners from alloy boltz, and have to say these guys look amazing, im excited to put them on, only like 27$ shipped to hawaii for the whole bike!! got the rear wheel off but struggling with removing the chain masterlink, do i need a chain breaker tool or has anyone got any diy tips...

This is a ground wire right? do i need to take the crankcase cover off, i know i will to get the clutch cable off, but the screw securing the wire is freely spinning, which leads me to believe it’s bolted in from the other side? Ill check it out later today if no answers

This indeed made life significantly easier. I have everything off except the clutch cable and the ground wire, the little screw on the ground is threatening to strip so i’m going to snag a little jewelers kit from work tomorrow when i go in. I also pulled the carbs and plan on running them...

Sorry for the miscommunication, if i do the emulators i plan on sending them to a shop to have it done as it seems difficult, the alternative is to use the progressives i already have. How do you like them?

Also does anyone have experience with cartridge emulators? I want a bit more in the suspension but would like to keep the classic aesthetic, i have some progressives the PO gave me but I’m hesitant to actually throw that in there
