I have an 81 XS650. I have been having charging issues, so I was running with the side cover off. The charging issue is fixed, and now I can't get the cover back on as the clutch pushrod is solid. Any sergetions?

So I got the rev counter apart and it literally fell apart, the plastic housing broke, and the needle broke, so I need to get a new clock or clock cluster. Any ideas

Hi all, The screws fell out of the face of the rev counter so I pulled it apart and found that it's a sealed unit, is there any way of opening it up?

So, I'm back :p I turned the screws out 4 turns and it starts better when cold but has a dead spot at low revs and intermittent backfire, I'm getting a 90-degree screwdriver so will start tuning.

Well, thank you all for your help, I found the auto-cancelling unit and unplugged it, the turn signals work great now.
