    Engine breather/carb filter pots

    Let's See The XS's

I always wish I could/would have taken classes at a local junior college for metal fabrication. Don't get me wrong, precision machining is awesome, but working with my hands and with no blueprints brings me a different sense of inner peace.

    Whats your weather right now?

Heavy storms my way, came home to a good portion of my neighbor's tree in our front yards, which also took out a power line from the pole in the alley to the street light up front. It wasn't live anymore so I coiled it up for the city to deal with. My neighbor on the other side of me (the dude...

Actually made something useful with my 3D printer.

I wish I had my old job where I used a tensile tester almost every day. Then I could print a CF prototype and do a compression test and compare the failure load vs. the weight of my Triumph.

Actually made something useful with my 3D printer.

Not sure my printer can print carbon fiber. I might be able to (???) if I change the nozzle. But being a machinist/designer with a TIG welder in my garage, I think getting plates cut out and shipped to my house and welding it all up in my garage will be easiest for me. Honesty, printing using...

Actually made something useful with my 3D printer.

My Speed Twin 900 came without a centerstand. Even worse, parts of the engine hang below the framerails so I can't use my little scissor jack on them. But for the low low price of $350 I can order one and bolt it on to the factory provisional centerstand brackets. Or.... for the even lower...

Guten Tag! I love my '77 my Dad gave me. My first bike, and long after any others have come and gone, I will still have it until I draw my last breath. Work in progress though :laugh2:🔧

Kick start only bike ignition cuts out

Once you get it running disconnect the battery from the capacitor and see if it dies. If so, replace the capacitor with a fully charged battery and restart. Should be able to get 14+ volts with your multimeter if your charging system is working right.

    Any vintage car guys here?

Heading to opening day of the Hot Rod Power Tour later today at the dragstrip here in Joliet. I'll post pics later. Edit: a few gems from this morning. We left after a while since it was raining and they had to postpone drag racing  I got a ton more but that's just a few of the...

Do you need a kill switch?

A kill switch on the handlebar can shut your bike down MUCH quicker in an emergency than reaching over and fumbling around with a key.

    A (too) loud exhaust rant

I debated running drag pipes on Bonnie my Speed Twin 900. But I am lazy and found it simpler and much quicker to just remove the stock megaphones (which are essentially [in my opinion] useless straight-thru perforated tubes anyways) and bolt in some little tips I'd made. The catalytic...
