    Sold / Found / Inactive - XS2 Parts Needed

Actually you can modify a later centre stand to suit. The width is different. For example get a 74 stand and just cut the cross member, remove a section, then re-weld the cross member to the correct width. I will measure the width for an early one sometime if you still need it.

    Modern bikes. You have one?

Is the 73 classed as modern? It's got an electric start. Well at least more modern than the 70.

XS650 Model Identification/Year/VIN, Workshop Manuals, and Other Information

Short answer is: - none of your business. Actually I would suggest it is not advisable for anyone to put your full ID on the internet. You are free to do so if you want to but I choose not to. The original post was to provide info to assist with the identification of early models

After all these years the bike that I thought was an XS1 is an XS1B... Help ID Please

Another mystery. Just noticed that the head is 1972 or later. Maybe it was replaced at the same time as the lower case.

After all these years the bike that I thought was an XS1 is an XS1B... Help ID Please

Hi Snowwag, I found a Yamaha brochure for the XS1F. This model came in candy green as well as candy orange (whereas the American XS1B version was candy orange). I have owned both colours. There are several other subtle differences as well eg. indicators, tail light etc. You can see the green...

After all these years the bike that I thought was an XS1 is an XS1B... Help ID Please

Looks nice. It is hard to say for sure based on the one photo and limited information but it appears to have started life as a green XS1F (but also has a mixture of parts). The frame number could be either XS1B or XS1F however the indicators, green covers etc. and tail light say it must be an...

XS650 Model Identification/Year/VIN, Workshop Manuals, and Other Information

What is classed as verifiable information? I'm an owner of some so I assume that is more verifiable than information sourced on the web. Anyhow I went over and took some photos from 2 of them; one starting with s650-2178xx, one starting with s650-2179xx. (last 2 digits hidden from your prying eyes)

XS650 Model Identification/Year/VIN, Workshop Manuals, and Other Information

Hi 2xs. The numbers in the chart for the TX appear to be incorrect. I've owned several TX and three of them have numbers higher than 217100, the highest starting with 2179??. So it is definitely a 73 TX engine and frame number. Hope you restore it to original.

    Is this an XS1-F ?

I think you can't determine that by way of the forks / guard as that "new type" occurred on both XS1-B and XS1-F. Generally XS1-B was sold in North America so if you imported it from there it's probably XS1-B. The XS1-F was sold in Australia and parts of Europe etc. (but not UK, which started...
