    Non-US paint colors for a 77

I have a 77 in the Maxi Maroon color and I was kicking around the idea of painting it in a color that was available in Europe or elsewhere but not here in the states. I've a buddy who bought one the same color as mine and he also has a blue set of tins. I am looking for pictures of 77s sold in...

    XS650 Craigslist postings depository

Here are two near me. A 79 that the price has dropped from 1900 to 1750 and a 76 that if it is still for sale would be a decent deal I'd think.

Switch out roto-tiller handle bars to...

Yeah no kicker on the 83 and no dual disc mount. I'm gonna have to replace the forks anyway so i might get an earlier set. Oh and the reason that rear sprocket looks huge is because it's a BELT drive. Pretty cool. On your XS , when you switched the bars, did you put on shorter cables etc?

Switch out roto-tiller handle bars to...

Ok this is not on my XS. I picked up of Kaws, 2 KZ440LTDs . A 79 no title but all there and an 83 with a title but the right front got singed in a fire. So this evening I spent about an hour or two and got the 79 running. Rode it around the block and those GD 70-80s roto-tiller handlebars suck...

    Let's See The XS's

Wyndmondham , I think it looks great! Of course I am a traditionalist. I like the stockers with some tasteful upgrades and mods of course to make them better bikes. You could find another beater to bob and still have one to ride....

    What's in your tool bag?

What about some regular wire in addition to bailing wire? If something gets cut, chafed, what ever? Splice in a piece? Maybe some connectors or wire nuts? I think with the tools you have you could crimp an end on if you had to. I was at a rally once where a guy lost the key out of his XS, it...

First XS Build - Hilarity Ensues...

Faster, I'm just up I-35 about 20 minutes from you. Just about 10 minutes north of downtown. I'm trying to get motivated to tear my old 77 down to the frame and rebuild it. It's so damn hot though. I'm a member of the local Kansas City Vintage Japanese motorcycle Club. . One of the...

    About Harmonic balance

As motorcycle riders and especially XS650 riders we all know about vibration. There is that sweet spot when everything is tuned together and the vibrations are at a minimum. Certain speeds or rpms. Below that or above that ,not so smooth. Here is a video that give a visual demonstration of how...

    New joke thread...

Reminds me of the guy tooling down the highway, gets stopped by a cop. "Is there a problem, officer?" he asks. The cop says "Don't you realize your wife fell out of the car about five miles back?" The guy replies "O, thank God. Here I thought I'd gone deaf."

Need some direction on my 81 XS...

A comment about the starter button. My oem plastic one broke and I found a guy online who makes them, plastic or aluminum. The horn button is the same. I went aluminum because I figure it would probably never wear out. Decent price and fast turn around. I got springs too.:thumbsup...
