    I just couldn't say no

The only thing I will ever use to seal a gas tank again is Red-Kote.

XS750 gears in the XS650 for strength

I went thru a few XS650s in my youth, when I rode with a bit of "enthusiasm". Neve broke a 650 trans or saw one with a problem, aside from the sticky clutch BS.

TCI ignition box and rectifier relocation

The more airflow around the regulator the better.

    using air pods

I always used the foam pods....without oil. I've not seen anything that will get thru those filters that could harm an engine. Oil is a bit messier.

    Brake Bleeding

Buy one of these and never look back. 20 bucks and it doesn't get any easier. I've never understood why people fight with bleeding brakes...

Anyone have any experience or knowledge about Janus Motorcycles?

My nephew has been serious about a Janus for a couple of months, now. The price is just too out of reason.

    Wanted - XS1 carbs

I have a good set of BS38's. I don't know what year they are from, but we played with a 73, a 74, and a 78. Might work?

Just out of curiosity - Airplane Guys

I read something yesterday about more enemy fighters being taken out by B-17 gun crews than by our fighters. Sounds odd, but what the heck.

1978 XS650E Standard - Consistent Whining Engine Sound

I'd bet money on the cam tensioner. Most likely damaged or too tight.

    Removing carbon

When rebuilding old cars back in the 60's we just tossed the carboned up stuff in a bucket of water overnight. Water dissolves carbon.

Rotor dead, can I still drive bike for short rides?

My son, with points ignition, used to take day trips on his XS650 chopper, 50-60 miles each way, He always made it home. Electronic ignition would not fare so well.

    help,tank liner failure

I have never had the slightest problem with Red-Kote. Must have been a prep issue. I always let it cure a couple of days, tho. I haven't been as impressed with Casswell's, but others have had good results with proper use.

    Want more horse power

Never could see why a bike of this form needs more power or speed. I've owned a couple of chops, and a stock 650 is more than enough. I remember a buddy sticking a 396 with a blower in a T-bucket. No point other than looks.

    Wanted - 74/75 bs38

I have a good set, may need rejetted to your needs. They were on a trike project with foam pods, and I don't recall what jetting I ended up with. They are certainly richer than stock. Send me an offer, I might let them go as I have no plans in the foreseeable future.

Jeez, I didn't even notice it was chain drive. They look like my 82 Virago wheels, anyway.
