    Let's See The XS's

I had to dig to find this picture. I got this 1977 from a fellow that had left it in his garage from 1982. (40 years) I stripped the bike down to the frame and cleaned and polished everything, sand blasted the frame. The tank and side covers were really badly hazed, but luckily no major...

    Let's See The XS's

Lucky you to have one in your garage. These survivors are getting hard to find. Looks like it’s almost all there, though. I had a ‘78 a number of years back that I sold to a guy in Vancouver, BC who was going to ship it to home to Australia when his work visa expired. Yours has the same paint...

Considering a backup ignition system on my 77XS650 for a long trip

Going back to your original question - the points system is easy to diagnose in the field and you can carry a spare coil, plug wire & cap, points & condenser in a small bag. TCI system worth replacing?

I have converted 3 older bikes to the TCI ignition from the 80+ (Along with building a simplified wiring harness) and all three have run flawlessly. They start easier than my other bike with an aftermarket electronic upgrade.

    2024 XS650 Calendar VOTE HERE!

I completely missed the nominations and voting last year as I didn’t receive a notification via my email. Could be the reason we only get a few people voting as no one heard it was up on the site. I just happened to check this year at the time the nomination thread was posted otherwise I would...

    2024 XS650 Calendar VOTE HERE!

I guess I could add some info about my red ‘76. Built from the bare frame up. As I started with an original un-cut frame, all the mods are bolt on so the bike could go back to stock. Custom simplified wiring harness with electronic ignition, 707 big bore kit, custom stainless steel exhaust, some...

    2024 XS650 Calendar Nominations

Like the Delkevic with the straight muffler. Had to use the same setup with a megaphone muffler on my build as they said the straight muffler would only fit the “special” frame. Perhaps I should submit this “76 for a calendar nomination??

    2024 XS650 Calendar Nominations

I don’t have any members in my immediate area that have seen my build, so guess I will have to self-nominate. 1976 XS650 with 707 big bore kit, handling upgrades, custom exhaust, etc. Sparky4123 (Neil) I have more photos if needed.
