Use your exhaust hanger as the flat washer that goes next to the foot peg and don't use the lock washer. You may have enough threads left for the nut to thread onto. Not much side load on nut. Load is on large smooth part.

MR Toglhot when you say scribe a line under the points heel I assume you mean the piece of fiber that rests on the point cam. Since you cant scribe a line directly under the fiber which side of fiber do you scribe on right or left?

I get 2 different part numbers for cam chain master link 94690-02021 & 94610-01001-00 yamaha part numbers. Will either of these work with original chain?

Easier to weld a washer to stud first and then a nut to washer. The double heating helps.

The bare foam seat was on bike when i got it. I bought the other seat because it had the same seat mounting pan. Mabey only difference in years is seat covering.

I have a 80 650sg. I need to get a pre sewn seat cover. It looks like all specials from 80 on have the same seat. Am I correct? Mine has the rear latch. Anybody bought a cover lately that they like?

Where did you get your tt pipes?

No hurry. Will try lighter weight oil in the meantime.

Looks like the 2 washers with holes in them are a one way check valve to control compression and the upper holes control rebound. Outside of lighter weight oil not sure what I can do to get a smoother ride. Not much room to enlarge holes in washers.

Enclosed is a photo of my damper rod from what i think are 73-74 forks. I have 2 large holes at the bottom and 2 small holes at top. Am i correct in adding 2 larger holes at bottom drilled to no 1 metric bit and drilling 2 smaller holes to number 45 bit ?
