    No start Mystery

Ok so I have checked the timing and the rotor line is right in between the "horseshoe mark" . Should it favor one way or the other? I really expected it to be sporadic but it's not. I also popped open the TCI and it was very corroded but nothing obvious like burned marks or smells. I have also...

    No start Mystery

I verified the dash and dimple on cam sprocket line up with the T on the stator. Thats what I wasn't sure of about the spark relating to the tci, so maybe it is intermittent and not sparking at the correct time.

Hi guys, Working on an 81' XS 650 that I completely rebuilt a few years back, sold, then bought back and had to rebuild as it was left outside. I tore the bike back down, honed cylinders, lapped valves, new gaskets etc and yesterday had the bike running decent. Fired it up maybe 7 or 8 times...

    Fixing bend in frame

Cut the section out, get a new piece of tube. Get 2 slugs turned up (I can do that if you get dimensions). Chamfer the tubes, drill plug weld holes. Burn it in. Re weld mount. Done.

    Bulbs Blowing Electrical Help Needed

Thanks for the info! All I have is a hi low switch for my headlight no on off. So it is all powered thru the one switch I need another style toggle. I rode maybe 50 miles today for the maiden voyage and all was great!

    Bulbs Blowing Electrical Help Needed

Ok thanks for that info. Wiring was never my strong point! I noticed my headlight is also wired so on hi the low beam filament stays on also. Will this draw too much? I only have a headlight, tail light and neutral indicator for lighting. Thanks again,

    Another reg/rec question

Ok, thanks for the reply. That being said, any suggestions where to get another regulator rectifier with an accurate wiring diagram for my 78. Rather not struggle with this one. May have already fried it:banghead:
