Have you used this one before? They have pictures of both types online and the lobes for the Suzuki are angled inwards while the Yamaha are square. If you have personally used them do you just make the proper bends in the float to make it work? And to wing, I'm balling on a budget as a senior...

I screwed up set my carbs on an uneven surface and fell about 6 inches and caused this. I don't see any replacements, well any good replacements that is, and it won't pop back out with heat. What are my options? PS: new carb gaskets didn't do anything.

Thanks 2M and got to agree Wing, been all over the place on this one but has given me great in depth knowledge. I actually found a local 81 xs650 that will start won't run asking $800 obo and after all this I'm half tempted to tackle another xs project. Being that I moved back in with the rents...

Is this what you're talking about? $6 shipped to my house so I went ahead and bought the IRGB14C40L. Not sure if that will fix my problem but guess we will wait and find out.

So you think the pamco is cooked? It's weird because I even talked to pamcopete pertaining the matter and he wouldn't give me any information on what transistor to buy to replace, and I ust that I would have to buy a new pamco board for $60. I mean I feel like it's BS because it was the first...

What part needs a closer look? The transistor was replaced and I did that simply by cutting the old one at the three prongs and used a soldering iron on the prongs and small needle noses to pull them out. Cut the new prongs to size and bent at 90 degrees and simply heated the prongs and pushed...

I blew the transistor on my pamco and listed the radio shack part number I used to replace it and it's been doing fine since. Here's the link, scroll through and find my comment on it. It was like $2 or something like that. http://www.xs650.com/threads/bike-wont-start.43703/#post-502796

I feel like I could turn one on a lathe out of aluminum rather easily plus that won't cost me anything considering there's a whole boat load of scrap pieces at school. No worry of using something not intended and damaging the bowl. If all goes well and I'll make a little stock of them to have...

2M I've shyed away from the clear tube test because I've read on here that people have cracked their bowls by installing a brass fitting to attach the clear tube to. Is the grease zerk a better way to do that test where I'm not running that risk of cracking the bowl by screwing in a foreign...

Bought a battery and hooked it up. Bike will fire and run for about 5 seconds now and only when the choke is not on. If choke is on it has no response at all and if it's running then I flip the choke on quick the bike either dies or doesn't respond to the choke being opened.

So everything that's happened. Bike starts runs but fouling both plugs. Then bikes only foulin left plug. Battery completely dies and switch to capacitor and attempt kicking, fires up and runs for a couple mins and left plug is fouled. Remove left carb and apply grease to both sides of the...

So that process made everything worse and now the bike tries to kick over the first time or two then doesn't do anything at all. Cleaned everything thuroughly and reinstalled and doing the same exact thing as I just described. Gotta put it down for awhile so I can cool off a bit because this...

Isn't what 2M is asking about is the needle pilot that 5twins suggested I check fittment of? There is no wiggle room in it and is fit firmly, I would have to really get a good grip on it to remove it and I'd be afraid to damage a part that is no longer available nor is there any good replacement...

TwoMany, I did exactly as directed and no start with bowls empty, with gas and no choke it almost fired first kick, fired and ran on the second kick for about 3 mins then died out while I was feeding it gas. Pulled plugs and left one was black with soot. 5twins, I've got the right pilot jets...

Alright guys got home and realized I made a big no no but leave my key on all day while at school. Usually I'll pull the main fuse I have as a back up but didn't do that either... so I went ahead and turned it all off changed the spark plug and boots then turned the choke open key on and gave...

5twins, I looked them up online while in class right after I read your last comment. I'm not going to say anything bad about the guys but only one in the store has ever struck me as intelligent. I'm in line now and I've checked they've got some on hand. TwoMany I'm not rocking a tank at the...

I called the local autozone and they said they didn't even have a cross reference number??? That's really odd, maybe I'll go in and do it in person and see what turns up from that. But then I wasted my time ordering 4 new plugs online. Ehh can never have to many plugs laying around for future use.

I know the pods aren't great for the CV carbs thanks to many post on here about it but that is all I have for the time being as the stockers were nasty with stink bugs. I've been running the bike with and without the filters and I haven't seen a difference with or without the pods. I just...

Okay, yes I understand that 1500 is way to high for idle but I've been doing almost all the work around 1200 rpm which is also what my manual says is correct so if that's too high idk where to go because 1000 rpm and the sucker is clearly dieing out because of lack of fuel/air. Peanut, the...
