Are the pipes and mufflers for these model years able to be separated ( mufflers slip onto exhaust pipes), or are they all a one piece unit? I ask, because I want a set of header/exhaust pipes in that year range but I do not need the mufflers and associated cross-over tube.

Hello All, I am wanting to know if the earlier 650 tanks from say 1970 to 1975 will fit a 1980 Special frame? I am converting to front and rear spoked rear wheels, 19" front and 18" rear, and plan on using an earlier tank and seat to complete the change to look like an earlier 650.

I am wanting to run an 18" wheel outback instead of the 16" on my '80 and scored a 19" shouldered aluminum front-wheel and need the rear. It should look like the one in the pics.
