    Workshop heater install.

I’ve just set up my new workshop heater. Previously I was using a kero heater, but apparently it was smelly, not that I could tell, that’s why I tell everyone ‘my $#!t don’t stink’. Funnily enough, the wife disagrees! The new heater is called a parking heater for some reason, and are very...

    Petcock fix.

I bought a couple of 90 degree fuel outlet barbss for the petcocks a while back, I thought it might make it easier to connect the fuel hoses. Hah, so much for that:. These things are a bugger, impossible to get the barbs pointing horizontally and impossible to stop them turning around when...

    DRO fitted.

I made a couple of small sensor brackets out of 2mm ally today, fitted one at the front under an ally U chanel. The other bracket and sensor is fitted on the cross slide and the magnetic strip stuck on the base of the mill. If swarf presents a problem its a minor job to fabricate a guard over...

    Magnetic DRO.

I bought this DRO on aliexpress with the intention of fitting it to my lathe. Changed my mind and I'm now fitting it to my mill. I have the X axis fitted and a bracket made for the readout, tomorrow I'll mount the readout and look at fitting the Y feed axis. It's actually for woodworking as...

    It's the small things.

Since installing the new dual output coil, the plug cables have been annoying me, flopping around under the tank. If there's one thing I don't like, it's unneat. So,,I made these two little brackets that attach to the valve covers to thread the plug cable through. Much more neaterer now.

    Todays work.

A couple of minor mods: The brake lever was just scraping the side of the exhaust bracket, so I bent it out a little to clear the exhaust bracket then bent the end part in a bit to get the foot plate back to it's original position. The slot in the sidestand had expanded a little allowing the...

    Clutch pushrod movement.

I modified an old clutch screw actuator a whie back, extending the lever by 5MM, from 35mm to 40mm. As a matter of interest today I measured how much the screw actuator moves the clutch pushrod: the stock screw actuator moves the rod 1,4mm, the modified one moves it 1,1mm. this seems very...

    Repairing the clutch cover.

After the failed hydraulic clutch foray I had to repair the clutch cover and return it to original. In fitting the hydraulic slave I bored the hole for the actuator from 26 to 29 mm and the mounting screw holes, which were originally tapped M5 were drilled out to take a 6mm allen head and the...

    Hydraulic clutch f-up

I made a 25mm clutch slave cylinder a while back and bought a 9.5 mm master cylinder to use with it. I hooked everything up, but in testing it found I only had 1mm movement on the slave cylinder piston, so, obvioisly the 25 mm piston slave cylinder was to big. I had a couple of 20mm hydraulic...

    Just some small stuff.

Yesterday I made another twin lobe points cam. The original I made worked fine, but was slightly out, so I did a little more filing, too much ask it turned out, a few swipes with a file took it past the midway point on the backing plate adjustment.. I've made a few of these points cam, very...

Ignore the engine size and where its made, I think the Chinese have stumbled on something that epitomises the cafe racer looks.

    Hydraulic clutch build.

I've been ruminating on fitting the TX650.with a hydraulic clutch actuator for some time. Originally a plastic screw type actuator was fitted. The clutch action is a little heavy for my arthritic fingers and difficult to operate as my fingers are fused. At first I modified a spare screw...
