    An introduction and question

About eight weeks back I had to spend a couple of days in St. Louis and to occupy some down time I pulled up Craig's List to see if any XS stuff was available. And to my surprise there was a non-running, titled 1980 XS650G listed for $350. A couple of texts later I was on my way. As is...

Having had a couple of hardtails in my youth I have a soft spot for them. Especially when so we crafted. Well done Dognunny

    An introduction and question

Been thinking about this whole switch thing and since my XS1B build includes putting an electric start motor with late model regulator/rectifier and TCI ignition I've decided to use later model handlebar controls. Right side with kill switch, starter button and if I can find one with a...

    An introduction and question

OK all I've got a question on a late model starter/lighting relay. (yeah I'm starting to sort out the electric components, their mounting and wiring things up) Courtesy of Jim from a previous post I have a question on this. On a wiring diagram from one of my manuals it shows the Blue wire...

    Feedback for Jim

I got a starter motor and carb set from Jim. He provided great pics showing condition, leaving no doubt what I was getting. Parts were packed well and promptly shipped. Simply great service from Jim.

    Sold / Found / Inactive - 78 or 79 BS38 Carbs

My current build is putting a late model electric start motor in an XS1B and the BS34 carbs are longer on the horizontal axis which means the side covers will not fit. I'm looking for a set of BS38s from a 1978 or 1979.

    An introduction and question

i do have a question for you carb guys. After I discovered the BS34's would not work I was doing some carb research on the forum and from what I read it seemed unanimous that later model linked BS38's were preferred. The engine I'm using is a stock 447 from a 1981 XS. Question is would it be...

    An introduction and question

Thanks Mailman. The frame and all the black parts are powder coated. It has a very light texture which really does a nice job of visually blending welds to parent material.

    An introduction and question

Well ya all, it's been awhile since I've posted any progress on the build of the XS1B Electric start. Been some progress but still a long ways off from being done. I got the engine parts back from ceramic coating and got it together and back in the frame. Front and rear fenders are all...
