    soaked the hell out of it and used a borrowed impact wrench like as suggested. Bingo!!! came loose...all is well and didn't have to remove the side cover. thanks for the great instructions. guys!!!!

    tried to break lock nut on clutch worm gear screw loose. used box end 12M then tried 12M socket. worried that I'm going to break the white plastic that it sits in. it wants to move in, rather than remain solid. any suggestions. trying to do this thru the access plug on the side.
