    Free spin in rear wheel

The wheel spun very freely with no chain. So I'm guessing it's like others have said and just tight becuse its a brand new x-ring chain. I will re tension with the bike on the ground and me on it.

    Free spin in rear wheel

Thanks everyone. I won't worry about it then. And I will re-tension my chain with the above advice in mind

    Free spin in rear wheel

OK apologies this is a very beginner question. I just put new sprockets and a chain on and now I notice the wheel doesn't spin nearly as free as it did before. Is this normal? chain is tensioned and aligned.

    Rear sprocket bolt torque

I can't seem to find any spec for the rear sprocket bolts in my manual. I found a thread on here that says 22 foot pounds but that doesn't seem like much. Is that correct?

    Drive sprocket/chain noise

But you'd have to come up with a way to align the string with the sprocket. I'm sure a guy could make somthing though.

    Drive sprocket/chain noise

This one? https://www.partzilla.com/blog/motion-pro-chain-alignment-tool?gclid=Cj0KCQiA3fiPBhCCARIsAFQ8QzUvlsY-ZXXlppucoSKthwuEmS3IB6NomuFYVl3W2ZsvlesofY3fcMEaAtCtEALw_wcB Looks very slick. I'll be changing my sprockets and chain here pretty soon and this looks like it might come in handy.

    Drive sprocket/chain noise

I'm looking at ordering some sprockets and thanks for the advice here, I'll get a 32 tooth rear. But i also feel like I should just replace the chain as well. Should I go down a size to a 520 chain? Just for clearance?

    Fuel mix and starting

Thanks for the input 5twins. I did change the o rings on the mix screws. Also changed the outside shaft seals but I was a bit nervous removing the butterfly plates and I didn't do the inside ones. I have the adjustable needles set to 3rd slot from the top. And iv got 135 air jets in currently...

    Fuel mix and starting

I'm went up 1 size in the pilot and main. 45 and 135. I never thought about reducing the air jet, but that makes sense. I'll order a size down and see what that does.

    Fuel mix and starting

12-1400. It seems like I need to turn it up to get it started then turn it down as it warms up

    Fuel mix and starting

If it sounds happy at 4 turns, let it be. :) This is the advice I needed. Thanks, I over think things

    Fuel mix and starting

Jim if you or anyone else would care to have a listen here's a couple videos. First one is 3 turns out and there's this slight burp/pop I can't figure out but it's only on the left side. Second video is at 4 turns out. That burp seems to go away but it's my understanding 4 turns out is way to much.

    Fuel mix and starting

Thanks Jim that's what I figured. Iv been playing with my carbs for the past few weeks and I'm having trouble getting it dialed in. Turning the mix screw out makes it richer right? (Bs34's)

    Fuel mix and starting

Maybe a dumb question but will the position of the fuel mix screw affect how well the bike cold starts?

    Float height discrepancy

I put new plugs in it ran it at idle for about 30min. Then rev'd it some, shut it off and looked at the plugs. Left does look a bit lean. Becuse I didn't actually take it out (just got some snow were I am) this isn't going to be a very true reading is it? Also I tried turning my mix screw in a...

    Float height discrepancy

Again I'm inexperienced at this so bear with me. Iv got some popping in the left exhaust which also seems to be running hotter than the right judging by some discoloration at the header. Also seems to take a few trys to start. And I pulled my plugs after and they looked pretty dark. But that was...

    Float height discrepancy

I'm trying to tune a carb for the first time, bs34 on a 1981 SH. I have looked through the guide and a few threads, the carburetors from the grave thread is a great resource. I have it running but it still just doesn't seem quite right. I just now checked my float heights and the left is low...
