:banghead: oh no. Hopefully I didn't do damage.

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

It's the stock TCI. So that makes sense on why both need to be grounded to start the bike and get it running. But after that I can unplug 1 and it will continue running? But only one. When I unplug the left plug it will continue. The right it will die unless it's under throttle.

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

Dumb question. How do I tell why type of coil it is? Mine is like a cylinder/drum with 2 wires coming out of it. Doesn't seem like it they can be unplugged from the coil either.

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

Now I'm very confused. I was able to ride it home with no issues. So either the right plug wire being loose was the issue (which was opposite to my issues) or me pulling and plugging things a bunch fixed it

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

I replaced the entire wiring loom and it had a new battery. I'll start pulling voltages everywhere else once I get some time. The caps are showing 5.5k ohms. I also made sure they were screwed snuggling now. Still problematic.

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

I get 5.5k ohms on both caps. Also interesting. The good plug cap was actually barely hanging on!

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

The original caps and wires. It's bizarre to me that it will run on the left cylinder under throttle. If I unplug the good plug while under throttle it will stay on and if i touch any metal on the bike I can feel the zapping of the spark.

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

When I take the plug out. And put it on the block and start I see no spark. But when I get it really close it will spark without touching. The spark will not be inside the gap

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

I swapped plugs. And wires. Still isolated to my left cylinder. When I touch the block, unplug my right. I get shocked. Almost like my right is the ground for the entire block?

Dead cylinder. When I unplug the good cylinder plug I get shocked.

So this just started. I felt half my power so I check my ignition. Bike would run when I pull my left side - die when I pulled my right (and kept my left). I tried to see if I had spark and I can't seem to see one. I switched plug wires and the left cylinder seems to still be the problematic...

    Cleaning under left side cover?

I also need to do a top down detailing. I'm going the rear swingarm bushing and shocks, rebuilding the front forks, and plan on trying to hit the frame with some paint. So I will wanna break the washer out to just degunk EVERYTHING. Outside of a car wash when I first got the bike last year -...

    Cleaning under left side cover?

I wouldn't put direct flow onto the seals themselves. Just all the other gunk around the general area. But yeah that's a good point

    Cleaning under left side cover?

Ok I feel like this is a dumb question. But I just got my clutch rod oil seal and I want to slap that baby in. Only problem is - there is so much built up oil it's hard to clean with detergent and a spray bottle rinse. I wanna just power wash it to blast it all away. Only reason I havnt done...

    Looking to replace rear shocks.

Well shoot that looks unfortunate. I was hoping the bearing kit would be better + easier to install. I do not have a press and heating/cooling and bashing a metal bushing sounded like a PITA. 🤷‍♂️

    Looking to replace rear shocks.

I also wanna redo my swing arm bushing. I see the copper ones are typically the way to go. I also see the ALL BALLS bearing kit on amazon for the same price (54$) as the copper ones. Any thoughts about those? To me the bearing kit would be best bang for buck since it comes with new...

You don't need the hat type right? Just another washer for the top of the spacer?

    Looking to replace rear shocks.

I ended up just getting them for $150. Hopefully the lack of adjustable damping doesnt bite me. They are 13 1/4 " also. Good to know. I should be able to find some aluminum pipe somewhere.

    Looking to replace rear shocks.

Yeah right now my forks are so soft. Easily compressed just by leaning down on the handle bars. Im fairly confident all the oil is gone given the state of the old caliper being drenched. Did you make that spacer yourself? Is this something I could buy?

    Looking to replace rear shocks.

And then there is this: Progressive for a harley on ebay. $160 shipped. I imagine harleys are heavier bikes so its probably stiffer? According to the label it is a 412 (CHR) STRT 13.5" (STD). I imagine the STD means standard instead of heavy duty? Probably some other things im missing about...

    Looking to replace rear shocks.

Ah good to know. I mostly like them because price and they are all chrome. The mikexs ones are black/chrome which deviates from the stock look.
