no, I am not sure it is not warn rings. what would be the best test for that?

    Pma and safety relay

Update: no success story here I have to admit I have basically giving up on the safety relay. I tried a resistor in series with the relay and the resistor got really hot. so I'm just keeping my thumb off the starter when riding. I did a ton of work on this bike during the covid lockdown and...

Specs for coil in Hugh's Hand Built complete CDI system.

I have run mine for a couple hundred miles now and it’s working tiptop. If you’re getting no spark I would think it might be in the kill switch relay. Is the battery in good condition, and can that be ruled out?

    denver co wo is here

A mere 300 mi away in durango... lots of work done during this pandemic. PMA, swing arm bushings, fork seals, new Progressive front Springs, taller rear shocks with original Springs refitted. chain and sprockets, sort of homemade exhaust, push rod oil seal, new brakes and braided front hose. new...

I seem to have the same problem. Did you get this figured out? I even have the same carbs for the same reason.

Specs for coil in Hugh's Hand Built complete CDI system.

The stator. Here is the here is the reg rec. Strapped to the bottom of the frame under the battery box. A 10 gauge orange wire is bolted to a paintless portion of the regulator rectifier and connected to the negative side of the battery. You might be right Leo. But I did not bolt to a...

I am definitely getting spark or at least I was for my test ride and timing check

Specs for coil in Hugh's Hand Built complete CDI system.

I think the four wrapped windings are for the CDI box. upon first removal of the stator I noticed that I slightly squished the red and green wires going to the CDI box behind the stator. the insulation was deformed, but not breached and the primary coil/resistance between the red and green...

Specs for coil in Hugh's Hand Built complete CDI system.

I do have a CDi from Hugh, it is getting spark. it runs great actually. but the stator looks like... the picture below. I am trying to figure out why it's overheating. all the new connections I made look good. I have torn apart the entire wiring loom and found some non-factory connections in...

Specs for coil in Hugh's Hand Built complete CDI system.

was this the right part? mine is pretty much brand new and I am getting 2 ohms of resistance at the primary 13.6k at the secondary. Am I correct to assume mine it is bad

    Pma and safety relay

I still have not tried to get my safety relay working again. the ignition pickup on tha pma would not retard enough, and I had to remove the Woodruff key and move it clockwise a bit to get it to be less advanced. and now it is overheating. not the engine overheating but the Stator is overheating...

    Pma and safety relay

That is correct, gggGary there is no light relay. And only two wires coming from pma. But hugh claims 200 watts. Hope this timing light works

    Pma and safety relay

Would I be doing any harm to my regulator if I splice into one of the two wires(yellow) coming from the pma before the regulator. my hypothesis is that would be borrowing the same potential difference (voltage) from one of the wires coming from the PMA, while drawing very little current due to...

    Pma and safety relay

You confused me gggGary. No doubt I'm a little slow. Now, the motor spinning fast is proof of what? I thought the voltage through the safety relay only allows the starter solenoid to not work. The safety relay only opens and closes the floodgates sorta speak. Making the voltage and current...

    Pma and safety relay

I have a 1975 (lights not controlled by the safety), and Im using a HHB PMA. So, two yellow wires coming from the generator going to the regulator. I attached my ohm meter to the yellow and black wires coming from the safety relay, and I got about 18.8 ohms. so if I assume my relay only has to...

    homemade Baffles for Short Pipes

The result... I'm going to have to wait until the temperature gets a little bit above 0 to see how they sound on the road. But sitting still it sounds okay. There were several leaks with the flex pipe and the u bolt style clamps.

    homemade Baffles for Short Pipes

Home made baffles stuffed in 1.5 in Home Depot grab rail pipes. In front of emgo shorties. Everything bolts in stock locations. As for the clamps. I used a 1.5 to 1.5 exhaust butt adapter from autozone, cut 4 slits and slipped over the head pipes. Then the HD 1.75” clamps were too big. Back to...
