Renovation of a front drum wheel

Ok mystery solved, it is indeed an SR500's one. As the SR front fork seems identical to the xs650 (from what i have read around here), I'll install this wheel on my disk fork with the locking bracket. Remain the question of the cleansing of the chrome... I've tried with the sand paper but...

Renovation of a front drum wheel

Hi folks, I finally found a front wheel for XS with a drum brake, yippee!!! So, it just arrived, and I had the (unpleasant) surprise to find it chromed. I'm planning to redo the rim (maybe in 16", but considering the debates we had on this topic here, I'll avoid rekindling the debate...) and...

    Gear box closed but....

do you advise installing the old discs, running a bit, and changing the discs for the new ones at the first oil change ? Does it contaminate the discs or is it just a pb when the lube is inside and as soon as you take it off, everything comes back to normal?

Thanks Jan-P ! I spent some times on this screw to adjust the tiny gap I have but it never moved... Thanks for the vids, I will keep working on it so.

    Gear box closed but....

I did that rocking and one of my lead was indeed that the GB requires more speed than just my hand to let me pass the gears... Another one was that I found after the whole reassembly a washer identical to the one at the end of a shaft (the hollow one with the clutch rod inside)... I wondered...

    Gear box closed but....

Hi lads, The intention there is more to put my head on a warm shoulder... I closed the gearbox after a deep clean of any part, change of the seals and the bearings, everything seemed fine, but when closed, the gears are not willing to pass smoothly... I have absolutely no clue of where it...

What have you done to your XS today?

That recalls me that I've seen the sexiest way to secure bolts on a Bentley 4 1/4 litre Le mans 1928 where all the bolts were drilled and secure with a wire... I'll try to integrate that on my bobber somewhere...

Best Multimeter for working on bike

In the Tektronix brand, I would go for the DMM4050, if you want the best. Easy to snap in a nice leather box strap to the frame, always ready to provide accurate measures. Go for it.

    Flat track project

Hi Pipes ! Love your work, everything is so clean ! very inspiring. And I love the rear shock mount, It is close to what you can see on a Honda XLR 600 and it turns out to be very smooth. Very impressed, love it !

thanks a lot !!!! If they're loose, is there a risk then for the bearing ball to obstruct the oil pipeline ?

I might have misunderstood the passageway term.... I meant the threaded aluminium sealant you can see all around the bottom of the engine...

But mom, it followed me home! And I'm gonna build it right here!

Hello Mailman, I've seen your old post regarding the passageways inside the rocher boxes, you meant the sealing of the holes made with aluminium welding (I assume it is cod welding no ? ) When polishing my case, I might have over worked a little bit and I can see on two or three little dots...
