Yup! That's the plan. Glad to hear all frames are the same.

Ah! Cool! Thank you! Looks simple enough and the lines are way better. I dig it!

Thinking about trying to fit some of the tin side covers to this special to clean up the lines, I realize I will probably have to modify them and/or the frame. How did those earlier tin covers mount? I see the two slots on top of most of them, did they just slide over some tabs on the frame with...

Finally got stuff from partzilla to finish my front fork rebuild on the 81'. They gotpowder coated, new seals all around, lowered 1", damnper valves, and the damnper rods drilled out. With 20wt, the test ride went swimmingly! Big improvement! I really like the stance now, can sit flat footed at...

The wife borrowed the 81' for some riding lessons! Day one so she was staying slow in an undeveloped subdivision. I sat on the curb with my helmet on so I could talk her through it all using the Cardos in our helmets. Spent a few hours working on her clutch control, shes pretty determined and is...

Decided I need the front end of the 81' a little lower. I have a spare set of forks I'm rebuilding with damnper valves and lowering blocks for a quick swap when done. My question pertains to the studs on bottoms of the left front shock? The set I have looks a little too pitted to reuse, plus it...

Make Offer - Closing the SOIR, going to electric bicycles, dispersal sale, it's been a hell of a ride, all must go.

Got me good man...🤣, for about 5mins., some serious plans were made.....🤦

I couldn't agree more! The triple-deuces will look great under that (louvered) hood.

Haha! Good eye man! Ya, the bare frame is the 80', the dual brakes are indeed destined for that! And that sure is a 40 hood! We have a 40 standard that is in the middle of being built as well, we saved a 58' Olds 371 J2 engine that will eventually be it's power plant, I'm pretty far on the sheet...

Hey guys, jumped back over to 81' daily rider, she's still a little rough looking and I kind of prefer that, just abusing her until a full rebuild once the 80' is done. BUT, I was looking at the seat the other day and decided I would treat her to a diet. So I went at fitting a counter balance...

The powder coating came out really well. This was more of a test for my method as I've never attempted three coats. Black, two-toned with the green metal flake, then clear. Came out great but I'm pretty sure I'm going to choose a different color other than the green, I like it, there just isn't...

Spent the weekend preparing this wheel for a trial run with the powder coat, had to build a makeshift stand out some scrap for the wheel to sit in the oven at 40° tilt, only way it'll fit, most the day was blasting and grinding off all the unwanted casting marks. This particular wheel has the...

For what it's worth, the motion-pro stand works pretty well. And folds up for easy storage when not in use.

Do you guys typically just run a spacer in here to take up the extra gap from the grab rail? Would it be wrong to try and thread this rod a little deeper then cut off the excess?🤔

Got the swingarm sorted, for now. Ikons showed up as well as new swinger pivot shaft and sleeve. Almost time to tackles wheels!

Do you guys think that fully welding these swingarms will invite stress cracks? I'm considering welding up these two small areas, mainly to keep corrosion out and to clean it up visually a bit. Or could it be that these areas were left unwelded to allow the swingarm a bit of flex when setting...
