Loosening mirror nut seized by brake fluid

Would this set of M10 x 1.25 RH work if both mirror screws are right handed thread? https://www.ebay.com/itm/323849177866?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=hrhVwDCdT1G&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=vaEy7_p1RAS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Loosening mirror nut seized by brake fluid

Thanks guys. I loosened it. Only issue is my new brake lever has normal direction thread. Lol. Maybe I can find a new stem? Or just buy new mirrors 😵

Loosening mirror nut seized by brake fluid

Any idea how I can loosen up this right side mirror stem? It’s seized by many years’ worth of brake fluid corrosion. Already tried a few days spraying PB blaster.

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

Alright. I'll make a checklist of things to do. Throttle freeplay is ruled out, it has free play and returns easily when released - Air leak check - Exhaust leak is minimal now, I tightened the clamps and the rings are on the way - Should I just buy two cone mufflers and attach them to the...

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

Any clues in the videos? Would not-ideal jets cause something this severe, or more likely stuck butterfly valve?

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

The previous owner had these foam inserts in the pod filters. I've heard of issues with these filters having too much airflow, and people adding a restricting hole inside to lower that. I'll try adding them back in. I gotta get a pair of the OEM carb clamps too. So I did some more tinkering and...

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

Yeah, and I'm trying my best to fix them! Not the butterfly shaft seals. I kept that assembly as is, the only things I replaced were gaskets (not seals, sorry) and the jets. They are closing and opening without any scraping or issues. Does it sound like the issue is more likely a carb or an...

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

No worries about the clanging - that was the license plate holder I forgot was hanging under the body. No problem there 2. Got to order a timing light; in the meantime can I do anything to verify the cylinder is running? Both pipes get hot.

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

Video 1: Here you can first hear the high idle, which was twitchy. As I pull out it settles into a nice low idle. Video 2: Now this was after I stopped to turn around and pulled in the clutch. RPMs went crazy and only lowered to 2-3k when I got back into first and came back. I turned off the...

RPMs go high when clutch pulled in + Right cylinder runs colder than left

I took my 78 for its first voyage down the street and back. The idle RPM was around 1.5k, and I haven't yet adjusted with the vacuum gauge but it just arrived so I may do that today. I've also just rebuilt them with new seals and jets, and bench adjusted using two identical small screwdrivers to...

White smoke coming out of left cylinder. Both cylinders running

No such gaskets found so I ordered them. Then I will get into what could be causing the wet plug. I want to see what they look like after running for a longer period of time. Thanks

White smoke coming out of left cylinder. Both cylinders running

so… I took off my exhaust pipes and this is what I found. This ring is welded on I think. Is this the crushing? If it’s not, there’s nothing else so I guess I’ll have to buy some. I also checked both of my spark plugs to see if they were running differently. On the right side, the plug was more...

White smoke coming out of left cylinder. Both cylinders running

Wow, good catch there! Logically it should just be an exhaust leak as there isn't a huge cloud of white smoke out the actual muffler. I took out the connection and didn't see any metal gasket/ring in there. I'll try tightening it up good to see if that helps.

White smoke coming out of left cylinder. Both cylinders running

I will definitely check for compression. But then I’d have to buy the tool. Generally, how much smoke is too much smoke (not road ready levels)?

White smoke coming out of left cylinder. Both cylinders running

It’s out of the exhaust gasket area. Yeah I need to check that connection.
