    Paint

The official Yamaha colour code is "11" or "Pearl Yellow Gold" (PYG) for that XS2. (However the code is meaningless as it is a paint that you could not buy from any Yamaha dealer).

    "Loose Bolts"

I visited the Boeing assembly plant at Everett near Seattle in 1988 when they were starting assembly of the 747-400. At that time Boeing was an engineering focussed company with Engineers in charge. You could feel their pride in quality just by walking around the place. Unfortunately I suspect...

    72' in Blue

I'm not aware of any factory blue paint scheme for the 1972 model XS2. There were three main factory paint schemes: Red with White (USA etc) Red with Black (Oceania, Europe etc) Pearl Yellow Gold & Black (Oceania, Europe etc) (A few countries had all three). In Australia there was also a very...

    Old Japanese motorcycles

When you look at the history, the number of motorcycle manufacturers in Japan rose rapidly after WW2. It rose from less than 20 in 1950 to a peak of more than 200 motorcycle manufacturers in Japan in 1953. There were still about 90 to 100 motorcycle manufacturers in Japan in period 1955 to 1958...

WHAT OTHER MOTORCYCLES DO YOU HAVE BESIDES A YAMAHA XS/TX650 LEST'S SEE PICTURES

Strictly an early Yamaha 650 type person (maybe some kind of a sickness). Have not owned anything other than that since I sold my Suzuki Hustler in the early 70’s.

    New (to me) XS1B

The early bikes are worth a lot when in original condition and they are my favourites. This one has a lot missing (instruments, shocks , pipes, chain guard etc). I tend to think it would take a lot of money to restore / fix and is probably not an economic proposition. If you want an early XS, it...

    Uk or import

Maybe none of my business but just clarifying - UK started with the XS2, and did not get the XS1F. Some of Europe got the XS1F but not the UK.
