2015 XS650 Calendar VOTE HERE!

Here are some more pics of my tracker during the build. The entire motor and wheels and brake calipers were beadblasted, VM34 carbs with K&N filters, Shell 1/2 mile exhaust, Avon Distanzia tires, Champion tank with an XR750 seat/tail, bates front headlight, #10 bend bars, frame was cut with new...

19" front wheel to rear conversion

Tompac, if you haven't already done so, I suggest checking out the Gemco Exhaust mile pipes as they are far nicer than Phil's pipes. Unlike the XR70 pipes they are right side mounted and look great in ceramic or chrome. ....Mel....

Thanks Dave. The bike has been on the road (both pavement and dirt) for 9 years and as good today if not better. I accept if this is how it works. ....Mel....

    My Street Tracker project

There are no problems whatsoever in not moving the shock mounts. A few years ago, I had that very conversation with Jerry Cheney of Chaney Engineering. He has alot of knowledge on suspension and chassis design and has raced for 40 plus years. His comment was that shocks are "very stupid and...

Omar's....yes, no, maybe, never again, never mind?

Gas tank mounts using a bolt welded to a cut exhaust pipe and secured with SS hose clamps. Works like a charm.

Omar's....yes, no, maybe, never again, never mind?

I have tanks from Jake at Grandprix and Randy at Gopher Glass on my flattrackers and streettracker and highly recommend them. All are Champion style. I suggest ordering the tank with forward mount race petcocks as the XS650 leaves little room for gas lines with rear petcocks. The seat/fender...

Hey Dave. I sent you a PM but the calipers are on correctly. I bead blasted both calipers and the rear hanger. Looks clean and saved time sanding and painting. Bike is looking real good.

No, it doesn't end. I'm thinking I may switch to a set of Jemco high pipes this winter and hang the Shell pipes up in the garage. No reason, just want to do it. If you are buying a set of Maxxis I suggest going with a CD8. The CD5 is softer and will offer better traction but will not last...

Hey Dave, I can't tell from the pics but did you get the front mount petcocks like I suggested a long time ago. The bike is looking and sounding really good. I congratulate you on a great build. Yesterday I took my bike for a good snort. Found this old fire road about 5 miles out of town and...

The tank is a Champion 759 from Grandprix Glass Works out of Casper, Wy. Jake does good work and has supplied the tanks for my flattrackers as well. Attached is pic of the bike. Been riding it since 2005 with some upgrades since. It goes real well.

    Flattrack racer build

[/IMG] Hey Champ, didn't mean to offend. Just inquiring whether your output shaft and swingarm bolt were parallel as this is the best set up. Also, if you can, mount the shocks with a 7 degree angle from the swingarm bolt with the rear wheel (if on) off the ground. This info comes...

    PAMCO ISSUES

Tony, the timing was set 200 miles before this all happened. The bike ran excellent. There is no spark what so ever. Even with poor timing, you would have a spark but the bike would not fire at the proper time. I hope Pete gives a further opinion.
