The latest and I am pretty sure the last project in the works. I have a Honda CL77 Scrambler and a CA77 Dream that I have brought back and I have been searching for the Super Hawk to complete the trio for quite a while. Don't let the photo fool you, it is like when you very ugly girlfriend goes to the mall and has glamor shots done, a lot of hidden areas that need improvement. The overall plan is to return it to stock form as close as possible. Honda Planet Blue and Cloud Silver will be the colors and the aftermarket chrome fenders will be gone. The wiring is the worst, splice after splice but it ran and fairly well, I have no idea how. The motor which did not smoke but had low compression on both jugs is now sitting at the builders for a complete overall. I will be pulling out the large lipstick tube for this little 305cc Piggy and going to work in the upcoming weeks. If there is interest, I will throw up some shots as the process moves along just so you guys don't get too much Yamaha in the blood stream........

I'll follow along. I really enjoyed your CL77 build.
I also have a 65 CB77 apart in my basement. Looks like yours with the frame on the bench and the engine together on the floor. Mine was originally a white one, but the previous owner sprayed it avacado green, without masking or removing anything. Got to love those old hippies. A few years ago I stripped all the paint off everything and when the weather breaks and warms up I plan on repainting it and put it back together. Good luck with your project.

We've done a few Super Hawks... red, white, Black and blue.. we discovered the blue is a match for department of public safety Bermuda Blue... Not of fan of the cams on these things... several pieces.... pressed together... You really appreciated one piece Xs cams... It's rather surprising... ride the Dream.. then the Super Hawk... the Hawk really scoots.. the Dream... newspaper boy toss comes to mind... We were getting $7-8000.oo for a finished one a few years ago... but I think the market went south and we haven't had any request to restore one.😎

I am finding most things are not nearly as strong as they used to be, to include the old guy posting this. I cleaned the frame today, normally I would use my power washer, but it was buried in the shed behind everything I had put up for the winter, patio furniture, mowers, and all manner of summer things. I went to Wally World and purchased two cans of Gunk liquid, (probably should have bought the foam), but it had always done a decent job in the past. It barely loosened any grime even after I spent an hour or two with a wire brush in preparation for the cleaner. After a lot of scrubbing with Simple Green and car wash soap I got it fairly clean. It is still going to take a good wipe down with parts cleaner before beginning to sand for primer. I have been getting a few other pieces in primer but it seems this little motorcycle is growing new appendages when no one is around. Enjoying the process and I know I am doing at least a decent job, I had to take off my work clothes in the garage today before my Wife would grant admittance to the house......

The wheels and inside of the tank are in excellent condition, that is the good news. Now some pictures from the engine builder, broken shift rod, missing dowel pins but the the rubber o rings are there, broken left side compression ring, top plate on backwards, and all of the gaskets are sealed with some type of impregnable contact cement. Yes we are still friends, at least the pistons are standard size, so no where to go but up......
