1973 TX650 Gas Cap Parts List

I need a gas cap for the 73 TX650 coming late this week. I have some parts. Does anyone have a drawing with part numbers?

HVC Cycle used to sell the rubber bits for your gas cap rebuild. I bought them some years ago and happy with quality.

Those cap seals can be a little confusing. Here is some info on when I re-did mine. Be sure to read the whole thing though as I had to correct my own mistakes. Been on mine a few years now and seals are tight with no leaks.

They recently "upgraded" their cross reference bit. Now, parts only cross if they carry 'em in stock. No stock, no cross...

Partzilla and all of the other on-line parts sellers have gone from bad to worse for some time now.
The only really reliable place to go to cross-reference parts now is CMSNL:

They will show you the first 10 cross-references, but to see the full list, if there are more than ten, you have to create an account and sign in. Do it. Requires extra clicks and scrolling around, but otherwise, CMSNL is a really excellent parts information source. Very, very reliable, with none of the myriad mistakes that plague Partzilla and all of the others.

Don't look at the XS650 models. Go to the link I gave, and look for XS1 (which includes XS1B), XS2, or TX650. Then bookmark those pages to avoid all of the scrolling next time.
