1973 Yamaha XS650​

I have a 1973 Yamaha that I bought out of Pennsylvania a few years ago. The bike did not have a title so it will have to go through Title Recovery (256) 448-4853 to obtain a title. The Bike was all in 1 pc. when I purchased it. It would not run when I got it home. One look inside the Gas tank answered that question. I sent the Carburetors to Rick West and had them totally redone. That cost a little over $400.00. The gas tank had no dents but was very rusty inside. I took the tank to a place just west of Flint, Michigan. They sandblasted the inside then boiled it out and coated it with a liner. That was a little over $200.00. I then disassembled the engine and ordered a new set of pistons. A little over $200.00 for the pistons. The seat while a little faded is not torn. The Exhaust pipes have some rust but not much. Everything is there. I want to sell it. I am located in Livonia Michigan. I will not ship! If you want it it can be picked up here.

I paid $900.00 for the bike. Looks wise the bike was pretty nice. I will sell it to the best reasonable offer. Bob 248-515-7845

Can anyone tell me why no one has any interest in a make offer bike. Price can't be to high. Just wondering why no interest.

The carbs do not look like the 1973 carbs.

Rick West joined they together to run off of one cable. If you want they as they were they can be unfastened. There were no modification to the carbs other than a joining plate.

That doesn't make sense. They are operated separately, unless you have a 2 into one kind of throttle cable

There is a plate that holds the carbs on there centers to the cylinder head and the linkage between the two carbs once synchronized are then operated by one cable instead of two cables. I believed they now operate as the newer bikes. I asked Rick if he could do it and he said yes. As I understand it there isn't a finer carb man round than Rick.
