I know I may seem like a wacko but after due consideration of how I would ever move the bike. Not having a garage to work on the bike and not having the skill to do it justice I have decided to relist my 1975 xs650B for sale for $1500

Has to take down the last post and create a new one. After much thought I have decided to part with my bike.

For sale Washington DC 1975 Yamaha XS 650.

I am listing this here first to give the guys in the DC area first crack at it. If interested please pm me.

Unfortunately I will be moving soon and will not have room for my motorcycle. It was parked last year after being mechanically stripped down and put back together and repaired as reassembled. I did not do the work myself I paid someone who new what he was doing. I hate to part with it but I won’t have the room for it and I haven’t been able to ride it like it deserves.

Full disclosure-he was in a bit of a rush at the end of the assembly and the carbs leak and the chain needs to be adjusted. Those are the only things that I am aware of that need attention.

Unfortunately life got in the way of my ridding and it has sat in the shed. So I will be parting with my old friend. I am asking for $1500 Or best offer.

For that you will get the rebuilt motorcycle, a spare tank, saddle bags made for the bike, all the parts I have collected through the years, a set of rims and the original engine that was in the bike. The engine was replaced because the Crankshaft gear was bad.

I was thinking the same thing JP. Haha.

I’m knee deep in building a barn on the property or else I would have jumped on it myself.

If I did buy it, I fear my wife may be making me sleep out in this barn haha.

It’s really hard not to pull the trigger on this one.

I know I don’t have any say once the deal is done. But are you wanting to restore or chop it.
Actually, I have several parts (cranks, big bore cylinder, etc) that I got from the late Dick Russell (Grizld1 here) and I told him I intended to build a stock looking "sleeper" - that's my plan. I'll give ya a heads up when the build starts (~ 1yr really) and it'll be documented here too. Dick was the Tech Director for the XS650 Society; you can find lots of stuff by and about him on this site.
