It seems as if I’ve potentially jumped a tooth, or my timing is 180 degrees off.
For the life of my I can not get this timing cam journal off

TDC on the rotor is correct! Checked using the straw method you told me to use, and double checked with a bore scope.Dont forget to check the advance unit on the other side from Points so it is not stuck in advanced position and that the springs
operate pull it advance back
Is the Top DC and marks on rotor correct
I did, and there was practically zero difference. Is it possible the cam journal for the points could be on "backwards"?Did you ever try swapping the plug leads... right on left plug, left on right?
You beat me to my next suggestion! Yes if it's been removed, the points cam CAN be installed "backwards" on the advance shaft.I did, and there was practically zero difference. Is it possible the cam journal for the points could be on "backwards"?
I can’t seem to get mine out, the advanced side is also removed. You beat me to my next suggestion! Yes if it's been removed, the points cam CAN be installed "backwards" on the advance shaft.

Note how the ring goes towards the engine.
To remove the points plate intact you have to "push the points back get the rub blocks off the cam so they will go past that unground ring.
That's correct orientation, with the disk on the other side removed the advance shaft will come out towards the points. Once out, support the points cam between vice jaws, put a nut loosely on the threads and tap the shaft down to loosen the cam.I can’t seem to get mine out, the advanced side but is also removed
The problem seems to be not being able to rotate the points plate far enough clockwise to get the timing to fire consistently on the F mark.I can’t seem to get mine out, the advanced side is also removed.
Edit: Soft mallet did the trick
Here’s the rub blocks. Too far gone you think?Photos can lie but that points cam looks pretty worn at the inboard end.... lets see the points rub blocks (the nylon part that rubs on the cam) also.
I watched this video as well, it doesn't seem like it. But I'll look again tomorrow. How to find if off one tooth
There is also a locating pin in the cam that locks the advance unit on in the proper spot. The weights on the advance unit hook into the disc on the advance rod and properly position it and the points cam on it's other end - if all the locating pins are there. So there are a total of 3 pins, one on each end of the advance rod and one in the cam behind the advance unit.
