So its been roughly 9 years since I've been on this site and decided in October I was going to get another XS650 and build a bobber. I did a pretty good job of photo documenting the process and this thread will be photo heavy. it started out as a stock 78 650 I drove to northern Michigan to pick it up and had roughly a good 7 hours driving round trip.

I had a plan of what I was going to do and had a vision of what I wanted it to look like. Most aftermarket parts were sourced through TC Bros due to convenance and they have great products. I was going the chopped/ basic build, no battery, kick only, Hughs hand built PMA, motor bored .50 over due to lack of compression, valve adjustment, mikuni vm34 carb setup

I did all the welding myself and laid it all out, custom powder coated by my wife's work and I did a lace overlay on the pieces. anyway here's the process and just about finished project. I have to figure out my carbs I have one sticking so tomorrow I'm removing it to clean and should fix the problem
