79Standard
XS650 Addict
Up for sale is my 1979 Yamaha XS650 Standard. Last year for this model and the best of the bunch. I sadly no longer have the time or passion for keeping a vintage motorcycle. For those that saw my earlier post, carbs have been completely disassembled and cleaned. New pics are at the bottom of the thread:
-Rebuilt motor including 706cc pistons, rebuilt head, replaced cam chain and tensioner.
-Hughes Handbuilt PMA charging system including new solid state rectifier
-Pamco electronic ignition, e-advance, coil and wires.
-Front caliper upgraded to a Brembo with a drilled rotor and braided stainless line
-New swing arm bushings and headset bearings
-Fork oil replaced when motor rebuilt
-Carbs just completely disassembled and cleaned
-New o-ring chain, sprockets, clutch shaft seal, and output shaft seal
Bike has 37k on it, but less than 2k on the rebuild. Electric start, turn signals, horn and brake lights all work. Starts easy and runs nice. Original chrome, including mufflers, is in great condition.
Comes with mountain of spares. The bike right now is wearing the gas tank and tins from a 1975 XSB, but I also have the original 1979 cobalt blue tank and tins to go with it. Newly recovered stock 79 seat, plus tons of take off parts- brakes, rotors, misc carb and electrical bits, plus almost a completed top end- jugs and a mostly assembled head left over from the rebuild.
