1980 wiring diagram. NO PMA

Thing is, having the red to battery might kill the battery when sitting.
Well you need to get a real wiring job done.
What ever you try, check that it's really charging with a voltmeter.
That might not be a reg/rec that will work for you.

Thing is it might have been, full charge, full time. Would boil the battery on a longer ride.

I pulled the stator cover off and it appears to have been replaced at some point. It does have a magnetic pull to my screw driver. Does that mean this bike ha a pma already? The reg/rec had me wondering since the connectors were different. It looks like tc bros online pma

Wouldn't be surprised... that reg rec kinda looks like a PMA style. pic of the alternator....
