This is a complete XS650 Special. Completely dismantled. Bare Frame (with Title), Good Engine (Turns Freely), Boxes and boxes of parts. Everything is there to make a complete XS650 Special. I am moving and I must sell.
So here is the back story:
I owned 2 of these when I was younger. Someone was foolish enough to give me a motorcycle loan way back when I was just out of high school. I loved that bike and I thought I was way cool. I ended up selling that bike for financial reasons and I missed it so much I bought another one a few years later. I rode that one for a couple years and sold it. For years I regretted not having that bike to ride. Fast forward to 15 years ago. I saw this XS650 Special for sale on Craigslist. It was in bad repair, but I thought I would restore it to new condition and again be way cool. I kept buying parts on eBay every time I saw a part that was in better condition than the one(s) I had. I tore the bike completely apart down to the frame and intended to do a complete restore that would make any XS650 lover jealous. Well, that never happened. One issue after another prevented me from restoring it. I never got rid of the bike because I thought, one day I'll get to it. So here I am today. At 67 years old, I'm selling the house, moving and have no place to store the parts. So, I am offering it to anyone to restore or just for parts. It's not a totally sad story. I am the proud owner of a 650 V-Star and I am happy with that bike as well. I would like to get some money for the whole package just because over the years I'm sure I spent hundreds of dollars buying used parts. There are some duplicate parts because I kept upgrading to nicer parts. I think there are four sets of exhaust pipes, two seats (one is like new), etc., etc. There are some new bushings that I purchased and assorted items like that. This pile of parts will make at least one complete XS650 Special with a few parts left over. The motor turns free and was running when I took everything apart. Motor was never disassembled. $200 dollars would take it all. I have the PA title and we can transfer it to you. See the pictures for the complete mess!
