This has been a great bike, runs great, smooth and straight at any speed. I have put a lot of hard work and money into this bike over the past few years. Just short of a full frame off restore. I really love this bike and it will be hard to part with her, but I'm getting married in the fall and I need honeymoon money. Plus I already have 3 other Yamaha xs650s (no I'm not willing to part with any of them, I do have extra parts though)

Suspension:
New Dunlop D404 Tires, Professionally installed and balanced. These are the tires that are on most Harley's ~$250
New rear wheel bearings. ~$35
Front and rear bearings repacked with grease
Bronze Swing arm bushings ~$40
New Fork seals and fork oil ~$25
Tapered head bearings ~$40
Brakes:
New front brake pads ~$20
Front and back brake fluid changed ~$10

Clutch:
New Fibers ~$45
New Springs ~$20
New Needle Bearing with Thrust Washer ~$20
New one piece push rod ~$20
New Clutch seal ~$5
New Clutch pushrod shaft Bushing ~$5
Clutch Push Screw & Housing Assembly Kit AKA Worm Gear ~$45

Engine and Drive:
New X-Ring Gold Drive Chain ~$125
New sprockets (Stock 34T Rear, 17T Front) ~$50
New Emgo Slash Cut mufflers (Nice deep sound) ~$100
Carburetor rebuilt and jetted for exhaust (may need to go one more up on the mains for better High RPM performance, sorry I can't remember what's in there now) ~$10
New XSJohn's adjustable Carburetor needles (no longer available, highly sought after upgrade) ~$40
New Fuel petcock ~$45
Cam Chain and valves adjusted.
Can't remember the exact numbers, but it has the engine has great compression.
Electronics:
New Wire harness with fuse box ~$90
Stock Ignition system working great
Stock charging system working great
All lights and lenses in great working shape.

Body and trip:
Tank is clean and dent free.
Paint is good, but not great, purple now (Stock it was black)
The side covers don't have the emblems on them right now, but I do have them.
Good Cables
New seat cover ~$50
All Aluminum (fork legs, engine covers) has been polished.
Chrome is overall pretty good.

There are many other parts I've replaced or rebuilt, I just can't remember it all.

Overall this is a very clean, rust free bike.

I'm Sappy... A combination of Sad and Happy.
The bike sold this last weekend. Got my asking price. Told the buyer to check out this board, so we might see him here soon.

I am drooling over that bike.
Glad you got your asking price.
In Austin, Texas, people would be running up to you to offer $2,500 for an XS650,that looked like yours. If they knew about all the work you had put into it, they would be running at you with $3-3,3500 in their hands.
You cannot believe how trendy vintage bikes are here, and how difficult it is to buy an XS650 in any condition.

Exactly. You had to go to Lockhart. But, sounds like you got a VERY good deal IF it has a title.
