2019 Vintage Yamaha Rally

I ride my own damn ride without complaint..i never rode with Chaves before..i havent ridden in a GD year..I am on a unknown bike.. I would have faired better by myself..and I am not complaining ..just telling my observations...I do appreciate all the efforts by ALL...so i resent the implications that I didnt......have a nice day...
I understand. New bike, haven't ridden in a year. At my age the rust builds up fast when I don't ride for awhile. And to be on a different bike, I think I know what you mean. Hey, I rode with Chaves Friday and Saturday. He rides pretty fast and his Yamaha Vision is narrow and is probably lighter than an XS, so following him into a turn can be hairy!. On Saturday I got a little scared entering a turn, but made it through, then the guy behind me (John), had a minor crash. Oops, forgot, you were there. Sometimes we/I forget that we are riding on bikes that were designed with technology from 50 years ago. At least the tire technology is up to date.
Well, I had a great time! Oh, and if I didn't tell you, your new xs is sweet. It's clean, simple. That's how I'm trying to make my bike. Your bike should be on the 2020 calendar.
Ride safe and be there next year dammit!
Almost forgot to ask. What was the problem with your bike on Friday?

I had a great time this year, but why no group picture? Sh!t happens, and sometimes it doesn't. This is my 3rd rally and I must say, I am finally meeting more people, but suffering from CRS, I can sometimes only remember their bikes. I met, the guy with the yellow single and 72, the 72 with the 2 into 1, David with the green and silver xs, John with the only 74, Wulfbyte, (can't forget that name), with the silver XS, Rod with the 73, the guy with the orange chain, Madmax with the beautiful black XS, the guy with the Vision, oh, right, Chaves, Jason (?) with the a lot newer Yamaha and DJ, (I think), with the Honda.
Maxpete, I hope you're feeling better so you can drink some beer with me next year.
Angus, I want to see your new creation next year.
John, I hope you got your 74 back in shape. Sorry about the left (good) muffler.
Steve, I will see you at your place for some Barbeque, soon.
Marty and Kurt, another great job on the rally.
DJ, I hope you're felling better, and don't forget your meds next year. You scared the crap out of us.
Gary, many, many thanks for lending me your air mattress.

Thank you to all of you who participated in the rally. You made my efforts worthwhile. I believe we had more XS650s than anything else. I'll be moving on to something else next year and I will no longer be participating in organizing VYR. I've turned over the rally FB account and the website. Hopefully, you'll continue to be able to find rally info there.

I guess it's time to unsticky this thread.

Thankyou Marty we both have been doing this rally long before the XS650s came along in the numbers we have seen the past 2 years....but we welcome them with open arms...Its been quite the ride Marty..Thankyou for 17 years of organizing and participating...I believe this is my last year too..Y'all take care...
