but lots of great roads coming over. meeting cafephil for dinner. The wildcat rally is here this weekend.

Made the 65 mile run over mostly on county and township roads, after meeting Phil Brian and Jim for dinner at the Old Town Inn restaurant made the trip back home after dark, on State Hwy33. The wildcat section at night is an um,,, interesting experience. The beamer (see what I did there?) has pretty fancy headlights, a self aiming center HID high/low, two separate flanking HID high beams with LED "angel eye" surrounds and a pair of low LED driving lights,

but LED upgrade bulbs for the HIDs are on order.
At one point a section of the LEFT fog line disappeared replaced by a black blob, my guess, it was a black dog walking the road. :yikes:
When I found some traffic I sat in behind cars to reduce the odds of nailing a deer.
and home by 10pm whew.

Pete and I will be there early after noon? (we have a 4hr drive )
And according to the weather 10 day guess is low to mid 70's and sunny and no rain

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way

I certainly don't want to take over this thread, but wanted to reply to this.

Isn't XS11.com now XS11.club? They have a place to go, and choose not to? Many probably went to facebook.

The quote below is what I said. I hope to keep this site going for as long as possible, but who knows what the future holds.

I'm not so sure. People come here for the XS650, and don't want threads, searches, galleries, etc to be convoluted. The whole XS400 site was a spin-off of this one for that exact reason. Keeping separate forums with a shared login (if possible) might be better, but this conversation should be done elsewhere.
I should have replied earlier. Sorry. Anytime I start a thread I am interested in responses, tangents to the subject, anecdotes and even thread drift from other members. Most have experience here to share that I can learn by. Sometimes we learn a lot by listening (reading others input). Cheers

I left last Wednesday.... planned on Davenport swap-show... theme this year was Wla... then proceed to Wild Cat weekend.... About 3:30 Am... left torsion bar, spindle and wheel snapped off my trailer ... This year's Wild Cat went well..... nice banquet Sunday night... various " traveling " awards handed out to the deserving subjects... " Fix it " award, " Pooped Piston " award.... yearly attendance pins.. several first year...a few 5 year and one 30 year pin. As mentioned before... visit the Sunday Rockton chicken feed.. starts around 11Am.. Hwy 131 just north of " P ".... about 30 minutes from Westby... or lunch.. with the Nuns... Hwy 131 south of LaForge... A couple of veteran Wild Cat guys plan on stopping. Streets are still tore up.... breakfast across the street or on the south end of town on the left... Old Town Inn.... Find the " Amish " Walmart.... Farmers market Saturdays in Viroqua.... get that Amish made basket. hard candy, hard bread... and $$$ quilt for the wife. Another member said they started a drag strip in Hillsboro...? I'm in the market for a new trailer. FYI: U Haul charges $155.oo for a week. šŸ˜Ž

Sounds good
there is a Zzip Stop right next door which looks to have anything we might want
Do we have an approx. head count for this event
Just curious
And according to the weather guessers it should be in the low 80's and no rain
I am bringing a 12 x12 or 10x 10 canopy in case of rain. My trailer(Kendon) stands up out of the way. I did not study hard on the hotel pics but I recall a fair amount of space. We don't want to throw Rally tradition on it's ear but a one time eat-in without running out and about for supper might be fun. This is new, it is innaugural, it is subject to being dismissed or changed.
I was thinking of a contest one night... Who can polish the aluminum on my Red Bike fastest?
