2024 Yamaha XS650 Society Inaugural Westby WI Rally. Sept 8th though Friday Sept 13th

We got one more! Dan from Rockford
Dan joined us today and we had a fabulous ride on county and township roads. Lots of curvy and twisty roads like the Ozarks rides. Not quite the elevation changes of the Ozarks but still plenty of ear popping. What the Ozarks lacks is Amish buggies drawn by a trotting horse carrying family down the road to friends or market or whatever. Dan is relatively new to XS650 but has lots of previous experience. We encouraged him to sign on here, he caught my Rally post on a XS650 FB page. Don Lawson's SIL was here riding with his wife and we met and chatted for a bit. I led for riding a little today and at on stop decided "2nd right" is the next road. "Dutchman's Pass" or something like that was rolling and curving and climbing and dropping for miles. I did not lead into "dead end" roads today. Seems you cannot turn onto a boring road here. Every town or village has a Bar & Grill for a lunch stop. Some of the pavement is a little rough but mostly very good. I hope we can find a slot to make this work next year. We did not stop often enough for pics but did get this coming through "Dutchmans Pass" right after riding through a tunnel of trees uphill.

...and when we finally found Hamms Beer on tap Ben danced a jig...

As far as I'm concerned it's a go! ( and a classic ride). I wanted a rode trip; and got one via 800 miles there. Next year I'll trailer actial Xs' s rather than ride 900# Harley. Roads and scenery worth it. following Ggg across WI Township roads a rare masterclass ( includes gravel and Amish exhaust, lol). Bonus is genuine Bratwerst by the Werners! I'm in!
JP rode 800 miles to the event and he says it's a go... Nuff said.
