I've been to this thing at least 19 times, just not in the last five years. I'm considering gathering at this milestone rally. It's still well attended.

Here's a short video of the Yamaha 650 Society at the VYR. I think we can get more XS650's than this if we make an effort.
Let's talk it up!

We’re excited to share that the design for the 2026 rally T-shirt is complete! A preview of the design is attached to this email.

Due to rising website costs, we discontinued the Vintage Yamaha Rally web-site and shopping cart feature. As a result, T-shirts must be pre-ordered via PayPal using the following address:
📧 vyrshirtorder@gmail.com

Please send your payment using the "Friends & Family"option to help us avoid extra transaction fees. Upon receipt, Nancy will confirm your order within 48 hours.

When placing your order, be sure to include:

• Shirt size
• Sleeve preference (Short or Long)
• Your return email address
• If you’re not attending the rally and need your shirt shipped, include your mailing address
Note: Shirts are pre-order only and will be available for pickup at the rally. For those requesting shipping within the U.S., please include an additional $15 for USPS Priority Mail.

If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this email or post in our Vintage Yamaha Rally – USA Facebook group. We’ll get back to you promptly.

We’re looking forward to another amazing rally and hope to see many familiar faces in September.

Very much tempted to attend this if there's a 2027 rally. Just checked the flight options and I think it's doable :)
I went every year from 2002 through 2019. I think it peaked in the neighborhood of 100 bikes. I can’t say what it is now, but I intend to return for this the 25th anniversary. This rally has been at the current location since 2011. At that time it was a carefully organized two day tour. It outgrew that after a few years. It was always a good time even though faces have changed. My wife has always enjoyed it too, especially if she doesn’t have to ride.

Thanks. In your opinion then, is it worth a transatlantic flight to attend for a few days? If not, then no big deal. I just thought it might be a good idea, naturally I wouldn't have a bike with me.
It’s a beautiful area. I believe there are local bike rentals. Traffic and construction have increased since I was last there. Much of the area is National Forest and the resort isn’t too far from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which is the busiest National Park in the country. I think it worth the trip, but Southern Appalachia is my most favorite part of the world in spite of its faults. The resort is lovely, but I’ve been a guest there only once since it changed hands.

Such a great event and no one is posting pics? must not have been so great...Kurt not returning in '27? Why? What happened this year? Was it a bust or was it something else? Earl briefly mentioned Pete drove him home and that his XS1100 could be repaired?? WTF happened?

It was a good rally. I didn’t take any pictures. I rode to Franklin for a cup of coffee.

I don’t know anything about Kurt hanging it up.

Earl had an off road excursion on his FZ1. He wasn’t injured. The bike got some damage.

I think there are pictures posted at XS11.club

Jeff Posted 4 pics Pete posted 5 Joao posted a couple..a far cry from yrs ago...If you read the VYR thread over there you will see Kurt's comment about not returnig next year...

When nobody wants to participate, it will be over. Next year’s rally is scheduled. As for me, I have enough photos. I went to Silva with my wife. We went in the truck.
