'68 BSA Victor Build..... Bloody 'ell mate... You 'effin daft or sommat?!?

I'm sure there's more to do, but this is it for now. The washers at the bottom of the pic will get replaced with new, so I didn't plate 'em.

The top end oil feed tube was a right mess. Got it cleaned up and it turns out it's brass fittings soldered onto copper tubing. It gives a pretty good idea how well the zinc plating took. I polished it with an SOS pad... scrubbed the hell out of it actually. Never went through the plating.

And then it decided to show me how much plating is on there. I needed to tweak it slightly to fit the rocker box... a bit more than a tweak actually... enough that I cracked the plating in the bend. No worries, I'm sure there's more for me to drag out the plating equipment for, so I'll make sure it's bent to it's final shape and re-plate it.

Seal kit arrived a few days back, so I replaced the tranny output seal and the left crank seal.

Front sprocket in the size I wanted is out of stock everywhere I looked. Well, found a few north of 80 bucks on Ebay, but I ain't in the mood to get fleeced like that, so I reinstalled the old sprocket. It'll work just fine for now.

Back to waiting on parts and piddlin' around here and there.

Replaced the seal on the sprocket access plate and reinstalled.

And got an early birthday present in the mail. Tom ( @MrBultaco ) offered me a set of Whitworth sockets earlier. Included in the package was a poster Tom has kept since his motorcycle shop days. You're a prince among men Tom!!

Got 'em both apart now. Here's why I couldn't unscrew the carriers. The notches the special tool sit in have been rounded off, both the tighten and loosen side notches.... big time.

Here's the special tool I made (duplicated from the manual). All it did was round off the edges of it.... fuckin' piece of shit PO's. :cussing:

More puzzle pieces....

These transfers are the kind you soak in water to apply.... kinda like airplane models. And they look fantastic!!
Classic Transfers LTD out of England. Good price, good quality, fast shipping.... highly recommend these guys. And they even sent along some scrap so you can spray your clear for testing.
I've bought from these guys before. Again, highly recommend.
